The only possible way out of the signing fee is to let the contract run out and then sign him back up. It may or may not work, but you definitely have to pay the fee if you sign the contract now. If nothing else, this will reduce the signing fee because the player's value will be reduced. There is no difference to the length of the contract whenever you sign it. My one question is, do his previous skill points carry over after his contract runs out and you offer him a brand new one at the start of next season?

Of course, that is what I wanted to know. So I just let all the contracts run out and the next day, I sign them and dont have to pay the signing bonus. That could easily save me $1M. I am level 3 manager now but I know I will be level 4 and 5 when the other players contracts run out, so it will save $Millions and always give me a full 3 years.

On the skill points, I have no clue, and wont since I always use the skill points immediately.
