Who should take the penalties?

I have 1 player with a scout level and a penalty specialist. He has 100% shooting. But when it comes to penalties, he misses it. And when I change my penalty kick taker with some1 who is 5 stars,(obviously he has lower shooting %), not a penalty specialist,(but a corner specialist), he scores... He always have a good history of forms... He has the most MOMs in my team too. So which player do you guys put to take penalties?

Always the man in form. I'd put my keeper to take penalties, and he has now one club goal LOL

Penalty kick specialist or choose any player having best attacking skills.

I never select penaly kick specialist as SA's we know that can work well or bad and I've had big deceptions when I selected one player with SA for that, and many times this player is the only that failed the penalty...

As if instead of being a penalty specialist as claimed visually by the game, he is a penalty failure specialist.
The same applies to those 6-7 stars GK with special abilities.

I had a player (AML/ML/DML) that was supposed to be free-kick specialist, but I think he never scored from a free-kick in 2 seasons or so.

But, I had players that appeared to be good or at least decent in what they are supposed to be specialist. I had also an MC which was a free-kick specialist; he was scoring from almost every free-kick he took.

So, briefly, in other words, the special ability only works when the game wants it to appear as if it has worked or there is something in this game that regulates the efficiency of special abilities also.

It's probably just a flat finishing bonus based on penalty kicks, it may not mean anything if someone else is better at the appropriate skill.

Why we are talking about $h!t.
Plenty kick is like a gamble it will work 90% and fail 10%.AS it is very minor part of game.
There are special abilty holder who can take it easily.Moreover quality also depends.

Agree about the penalty-specialist sa.
Another option to choose, is a player of the team you want to promote.
This can be a ST who is not scoring much (and brake our nerves), so with some extra penalties we can improve a bit his stats.
Also maybe a young winger who is good player and adding also some goals from penalties, he gets more often the MoM extra sp.
