I use 4-1(DMC)-3(ML MC MR)-1(AMC)-1 against teams with an AMC. Or 4-4-1-1 if they haven't. My AMC is a beast so loves playing against a 4-4-2 especially when I play short passing and through the middle.

4411 works best with 442? I always lose 442 thats why am asking..

Maybe you could play to strengths of your team and adjust tactics accordingly. Often good tactics will counter a 4-4-2.

You must have the right players to support your formation.
