Supported by any DL/DR? Think just ML/MR on the wings can be pretty exposed even with 3 DCs. If nothing else you will give up possession of someone goes down your flanks.

yes I got DR,DL I'm having trouble beating 451 V with my defensive 451 flat .

then just by leaving the DL,DR ML MR without arrows I can manage to defend well against AML,AMR ,then I guess putting red arrows on DR,DL is not a smart move in this case ?

from my personal experience as I play often with 4-5-1V vs 3DC-5(flat)-2 (defense/counter/flanks/long pass) in 20-25 % of those games, it works good vs my very good AML-AMR

yes down arrows on mr/mls can work if they have good defensive stats, just buy wingbacks they are the best of both worlds

is having Dl,Dr plus DML DMR in the same formation a good idea or a waste ? since they are so close to each other . Don't people play with 3 Dcs when using DML,DMR ?

I've had a few matches started with 44xx formation and ratings for my dr or dl go up when I moved the mr/ml back to mid defense (422xx). I haven't paid enough attention to know what tactic or formation opponent was using when that defensive move was helpful for me. I just watch the ratings for both teams and try adjusting arrows first, then positions, players, or tactics.

Don't people play with 3 Dcs when using DML,DMR ?

Last season at least, 3n3w(dml/c/r) had been very hard counterattacking formation to overcome. Using 212, 121, or 112 attacking up front. Low or high pressing, defensive or attacking. Works deadly against an attacking 43w12 formation.

no , it's a waste.
With that way (you also need 2 DC, ok?) your formation will be DL-DC-DC-DR-DML-DMR ...xMC - xAM -xST
So, you 'll have 6 players in defense and you 're gonna be still vulnerable vs a 4-4-2 ND for example.
Maybe the most tough in defense formation is 3DC-DML-DMC-DMR.
