Recommended players - how the engine works

I've read quite a lot about the recommendation system. It seems there is a correlation between the number of players in one position and the recommendations itself, but it's not consistent. Like for example sometimes you have 1 GK only and you will get GK recommendations. But sometimes even if you have like 3 strong STs, you still get STs as a recommendations. But it seems that there is a tendency of the system to offer mostly GKs and STs.

So while I was reading I noticed someone saying that he only gets STs recommendations, for several seasons, even if he had 4 6 star STs. And he mentioned playin 4-5-1 or 5-4-1.

Therefore, let's join forces together and test if the formation is a trigger for the recommendations, although it makes no sense to play a defensive formation and receive an ST, but who knows.

Please post:

1. What formation are you using.
2. What recommendations do you usually get.
3. What's the quality of your players / how many you got for the position you get recommendation at the time you receive the recommendation.

I'll start:

1. 4-5V-1
2. AMR/ST, AML/ST, AMC/ST, ST.
3. My last AMC/ST, ST recommendations I got today, while I had already 3 - 7 star players: AMR/ST, AML/ST, ST.

From my logic, I will change the formation to 3-4-3 to see if I will instead receive DCs, DLs, DRs, as I really need defense players. Let's test.

I'll start because my answer to your questions will be basically the same as yours. But I must say that for 2 seasons I had just one GK in my roster and never a got a single one recommended.

About GK, maybe has to do that yours doesn't perform well and you have many goals conceded ?

I´ve been offered AML/ AMR /AMC- Striker combination from 79 tokens( near 7 star)-109 tokens (near 8 star) or a Goal keeper.
I usually play 451 v
Quality of my players are 8 star

lol, yes indeed
the only relation is with the quality of the team.
As I drop quality with NIK, I never had a 6* player of 60-70 T , even if my 1st squad is full 6* players - lol

Agreed ! since start (keepers and strikers only) both first and second team, I have tryed lowering quality, having several keepers and a bunch of striker... the difference is the same :rolleyes:

I don't see how formation or tactics should reflect on the outcome :confused:

I once got a DC/DL + free-kick SA with my second team for a few tokens (29 ? I can't remember). He was 19 and was my best scorer for two seasons: just a dream... that never took place again!

My best ever player in the history of my club was also my first ever recommended player purchase. I believe recommendations trigger if you dont have back-up of a position.

I playing 4-1-2-1-2 and i have full rooster 22 players. Each positions have have at least 1-3 sub/ reserves covered. And the scout didn't give me recommendation the entire season.

only last few days i sold 2 strikers in my sub, and only left 2 strikers in my starting , i immediately get recommendation AML/ST at Q 117 the next day.

Coincidentally i have a ML/AML and 2 AMC/AMR in my squad. So i guess the game decided to gave me AML instead of AMR.

The AML/ST recommended is Q 117, my existing best striker is 113.

Last season i remember i also got recommended a ST with Q 111, but that time my best ST is 105.

He was a fast trainer from 19yo and I got him to 7 stars every season. I didn't power train him. This is the first season he hasn't got to 7 stars. I will try to keep him at least to scout level till he retires through power training.

Did u notice any decrease in performance after u power training him? Do you give him rest 24 hours? I read somewhere they say need give 24 hours rest which I dont know cos I never done before.

I just train him along with the others and feed Green packs. I got thousands so it's no bother. He plays awesome in most games, just the odd one he might only get a 7 rating but he's my main FK & Penalty taker and scores on most occasions. I would be surprised if I ever have another player as good as him and with his stats.

I have yet to come across a good defender. I have one DR as backup for my 4 man defense. I did not get any defenders as recommended players. I got str/aml and str/amr though and both my AML and AMR are 6-7 star players with shadow striker and have good backups with the same SA. My striker is 7 star btw with free kick SA.

The recommended players are at least based on your quality. Low quality teams will get 4 star recommended players of 19 years for something like 19-29 tokens. I will only get 69-79 token offers for 20 year old near 7 star players.

Can anybody explain why defenders only get the free kick SA when they are offered? I mean living wall and headers are far more important. A DC/DMC with playmaker is also something you would like. But free kick???

Interesting feedback for now. We know that the overall quality of the team counts, but this is related to the quality of the recommendations, meaning they will be either 4-5 stars or 6-7 stars.

I know that the idea of tactics mattering may sound weird, but we should at least exclude it and see. The interesting part is how many players you got on that specific position. I've got AML / ST as suggestion when I had only 1 AML and after that one AMR / ST after I had only one AMR. And the last suggestions was an AMC / ST, when I didn't had any AMCs in my team.

Now I'm curious to see if the next suggestions will be from another area, as for now I've pretty much covered all attacking positions.

I will also change the squad to some other formation on the 8th and 9th day before the daily reset to see if the formation has an impact.

dave311 how did you get thousends of them... before the force of 4 times training before a match i had around 1,5k green packs, but now i am down to 780... i just need to much for those damn trainings!

I got them watching videos before it went to crap. I used to farm 50-60 daily. Now maybe 10 per day (after I train and rest players) or 30ish if I don't train.

I could give the token, buy the cheap one and sell him for the money but I haven't money problem.
I have about 11 B' and every season I earn about 500 M'.
Of course this feature of recommendations is useless for my team.

So I have no DR in squad, and one might think that that would be the recommendation... But see fif your self

If I had 11 goalies & 11 strikers in my squad…I know what I´d get recommended lol

And yet again guess? Yes another batch of strikers.

It's been 10 seasons now since new version of the game is launched... I can't remember if player recommendation feature started immediately or few seasons later... Anyway, 10 seasons times 4 recommendations is 40 recommended players by now... I play with 3 teams, so it's 120 and only once MC is recommended and DC never... GK, DML/R and ST are the most often recommended players...

One thing I don't understand,there are 2 or 3 admin's on the forum,why none of them tell us how the recommended players engine work,if they don't know they can ask those who knows or this is a "top secret" and must stay like this😏

It's a no brainier for me. There should be a means of requesting a player for a certain position. So basically you ask your 'scout' to find you a player and he comes back in a few days with 3 choices in that position. This could I'm sure be easily added in the AM section. Same goes for young trainees. That way I think many more people would spend tokens on these types of player.

Such a Great idea, such a bad communication with admins and game support..FFS I'm getting sick of only being recommended 4 stars players, it's like this stupid game doesn't want to take my tokens....I've stated before I'll let Nordeus take 100tokens from my account with no obligations and giving me personally nothing in return, just FIX these academy players and stupid low stars recommendations..PLEASE ??? PRETTY PLEASE??!! LOL

I would spend:). So far only 6 recommendations to me were not GK. I am at level 7, I got 1 Amr/Mr, 1 Amc/Mc, 1 Dl/Dml, 2 Aml/St, 1 Amc/St. I think it depends on your eleven, when I played with overall 90%-100% I could get all, but when I pass beyond 100%, I could always get a GK. I used to prefer 4-5-1 V mostly. Now, I play mostly with 4-1-4-1.

Not to ruin your day but... It's still random. 7-8 days is just the average. I've gotten 3 scouts in 10 days once. You can still get another before the season ends.

The most unfortunate thing is when you start a new season after being promoted and recommended players happen

If it happens the second day of the season, you get the normal recommended players level (e.g. the stronger could be 119% for 79 token)

But if it happens the first day of the season, you get a 99% 19-20-21 years player for 79 token

I saw it 2 times, I hope never happens again to me :(

EDIT: found that recommended players are awarded before the club got promoted, so you could buy it at 2-3 am before going a level up :)

I can offer my experience as a new manager with these recommended players.

I started Dec 2. As best as I can remember, the first player I signed (recommended) was a GK. I then signed a ST, followed by an AMC/AMR, followed by an AML/ST. It's possible one of those players was actually purchased from the "Scouted" players section for cash + tokens. Again, can't remember 100%.

After that I was recommended a batch of ST, none of which I signed...

Right around that time I decided to transition my roster to not being full (only 19 or 20 players, after always having the full 22) AND to being more balanced across Midfield and Attacking, specifically.

This is because in my first few weeks of competition I quickly adopted the 4-V-1 formation, and to support that I carried 7-8 Green Dx eligible players, making sure to have some DMC eligible players as well. Basically, my roster was defense heavy. All solid quality players, but I wasn't happy with the match results.I felt there was simply more scoring potential to be had. (Still a great formation against top competition, I don't mean for this to be an opinion on formation)

BUT in the past couple weeks NOW I am often simple running out formations of just 3 DC across the back line. No DL or DR or DMC. As such I started carrying only 5 total Green Dx eligible players. I wanted to commit to a larger presence in the midfield and specifically in the top 6 attacking box / grid. (Again, not lobbying this is correct, just what I did)

And then finally I was recommended my first batch of Defensive players - All were DL eligible... a position that I only had a single player eligible for on my roster. And as you can guess, none of them were worth the tokens and they remained unsigned.

So, this is an incredibly small sample, but here are a few points that might be something:

1. I think the engine logic might operate best (for managers) when you don't have a full roster.

2. I think the engine logic aims to balance out your roster once you do have 1 or 2 roster openings, regardless of your preferred formation.

3. I think the engine simply breaks when you have a full roster + very high quality on average. As we approach the end of this season mine is hovering around 104%, probably very high for ML-2. By "breaks" I mine it will just recommend players that it weights as the most valuable, i.e. those that most impact goal scoring. ST and GK.

Lots of assumptions on my part, but maybe seeing how the system works for a new manager can help determine its logic.
