Quick update prior to the last week of the season.
In the championship I managed to escape 3 points once again after an unexpected draw last week, my main opponent drew as well. This basically means that I have a buffer of one defeat in the last 6 matches.

In the Champions League I qualified to the semis (the opponent just sent me a friend request today, maybe he's trying something cheeky? :rolleyes:)

Finally, we managed to win the promotion to the Silver 2 division following a 1st place at this weekend's Association tournament.

Pulled off a major upset in associations. Looks like he's changed his tactic for the 2nd leg to something that is designed to prevent counter-attacks, so I doubt lightning strikes twice. But at worst, I split the points, which considering the quality means I did my job :).
The first day of last week started very good:
We had a FA weekend with exploiter, again. We made a relly good Semi-Final against the "weaker" exploiter.
Todays final seemed to be really hard - I had to play vs 25% stronger team, BUT our FA made a fantastic 1.leg (home) -> we took the lead 18:0. :eek: Really don't know, how we did it, but everything looked perfect.
2.leg (away) was okay, I lost my game... I got no controll (23:8 shots, 11:3 SoT to him... :confused:) - we won homeleg 3:0 (17:13 shots, 9:5 SoT to me...). how is such a difference possible?
Finally we won 27:9. Now we have 1397 pts and we'll promote to platinum. :o
At league, we won vs last good opponent (except the chinese), so next three days will decide, how many trophies we take:
Tomorrow and Wednesday, we play CL vs an evenly FA-member. I'm sure, the winner will win the trophy, because on the other side, both teams around 40% weaker than us (thx to this ... CL-draw).
Tuesday we play against the chinese-guy and cup-final.
Next few days will be hard and interesting... hope, I can sleep. :p

Desert Rats FC played at home against 7th place, and registered a second successive 5-0 League win. Patrick Tillmans recorded a hat-trick in the first-half, assisting Julien Renard (twice) and Gary Cusack to his first goal, after Glenn Seynaeve had put the Rats ahead from a free-kick in the 5th minute. After the break, Cusack scored the second of his brace, and the home side cruised to the final whistle.
The Management has just been notified that the Rats' opponent in the Champions League Semi-Final has changed the match time to 22:15 - which suits the Management perfrectly, as they probably wouldn't have made the original time of 10:23 anyway... :)

Sergio Cardozo has stated his intention to end his 1 season contract with the team early, leaving us without AML. Fortunately we were able to scavenge a 26 Year old Belgian from Nordeus Academy :)
Association matches last weekend were madness. Our 3 opponents were a lot stronger then us. First round was 6-9 for them. Second round however was 9-6 for us. I checked the last match and it went into overtime. Hey, what is going on? Quick check. Everything was equal, point, goals at home and goals away. Never saw that before. The penalties were nailbiting. Only after the 8th penalty we lost (3 missers from my teammate in a row :()
Second day was just mind blowing. First round we lost again with 9-6. I lost my game with troll numbers.

we made a great game. We won 7:1 at home, so I think CL semi is taken, one more night to sleep. ;p
But tomorrow will be a really hard day. First we play vs our chinese-league-rival, 3 hours later we play cupfinal.

Desert Rats FC played their delayed away Champions League Semi-Final 1st Leg match and started the match with a bang. The home side's 3DW-2DMC-MR-2AMC-2ST formation gave the Management a small headache, and the Rats were lined up in a 3DW-2DMC-2MC-2AMW-1 counter. Three minutes in and the visitors were awarded a Penalty and Patrick Tillmanns took the responsibility of converting the kick, beating the 'keeper at the right-hand post. Both sides suffered injuries, the visitors losing left-winger Gary Cusack early in the second-half while still the one goal ahead. At the same time, the home side were switching formation on a regular basis, and the Management changed to 4-5-1V as a good utility counter, which enabled attacking down the flanks, especially late on as the hosts lined up in a narrow 2DC-DMC-MC-3AMC-3ST formation and attacked down the middle. Filip Andersson hit a long range shot in the 73rd minute, which the 'keeper appeared to have saved but eventually ended up in the net, and five minutes later Tillmanns added a third goal after good work on the flank by Mashoor Ibrahim. Final score 3-0, and Desert Rats have high expectations of another Final appearance.

League is all but clinched. CL Semifinals we won at home 4:3, and I can't attend match 2. Will face a +1 level, slightly higher Q team, but first leg was easier than the scoreline implies. The final would be no walk in the park if we reach it.
Desert Rats FC played in their Cup Final, with a 33% advantage over their opponents and playing 4-1-4-1 vs 4-3N-3, and the defeated manager from their Semi-Final also attended and supported the Rats, thank-you. It's been a lean past few matches for the strike force, poor performances reflected in poor ratings, and the Management had a dilemma as to which of the three to field. In the event, Julien Renard was chosen and he turned in a much-improved performance, opening the scoring in the 18th minute and adding a second on the stroke of half-time. The midfielders took over after the break, left-winger Unal Ozdemir netting five minutes after the break and right-winger Emerson de Alencar Arraes assisting Ireneusz Jezierski late on to complete the 4-0 win. Rats 'keeper Bismark Carroll was the star of the defence, saving 4 out of 5 of the shots on target mustered by the opposition.
