Just to tidy up last season, as that thread has been locked
Desert Rats FC won their last match of the season, 3-0, and confirmed their Championship win, de Alencar Arraes, Jezierski and Goggin the scorers.
I hope we don't meet the runner-up in the League this season, as the manager supported against me at all the last 10 matches bar one - didn't do him any good as the Rats won all of them except the one he didn't attend
The Rats start their 12th season at Level 6, and the initial playing squad is as follows:
First match of the new season, and a colossal advantage over the opposition in the Cup First Round.
That said, the home side fought all the way and Desert Rats take a 2-0 advantage to tomorrow's 2nd Leg, right-winger Emerson de Alencar Arraes scoring in the first-half and then assisting left-winger Gary Cusack with his second-half goal. Striker Matt Goggin became the Rats first injury victim of the season, out for three days.
The Quality of the Cup opposition this season is on a par with the First Round opponents with a few of equivalent and a couple higher Quality outfits included. The Rats feel confident in making good progress in defence of the trophy they secured last term.
The Champions League is similar to the Cup in range of Quality of the opposition, the Groups are detailed below; look out for the 'Group of Death' Groups A, B, G and H. The Rats are in with two other League Champions and a 4th placer, but they have a significant Quality advantage, at the moment. The team with the easiest Group (on paper) is Real Madrid in Group F.
