Morale of players

Is it necessary to have morale of all players to be 'very good' or 'superb' if you are facing a team which is 4 quality less than your team??
I played against one of my friends, with two players having 'good' morale and lost 1-3

Well for me its pretty simple, if the match is important for example a cup tie, I make sure their morale is full. Other then that (very good) works well all the time. But I have yet to try letting them go below very good.
