I've had great success with my team, but now some of them are getting on. I am investing in some youth. What age is too old in top eleven?

I'll keep decent people until 24 yrs old. Exceptional people will stay on my team until they retire.

Age is just a Number Boi, once i won the league just because of 31 years old DL who was surprisingly good at assisting corners he made like 30 assists per season every corner was a goal ,i never found someone like him to this day
Age is not as important as it has been. I would say, as long as he can keep up keep him.
I have several 30 years or near players, that is dominating still

No rush
I keep all players until their performance drops. A common mistake is going too young and ending up with too many under performing young players
It's good to have a mixture. I agree with earlier comments about having too many under-performing young players. I think you need a good balance of age and youth.

Brilliant question :)
I have always been selling my players a bit young....around 23-24.
I tend to go by the star ratings and since young players grow faster, my team tends to be full of 18-21 year olds.
However, I do agree there are quite a few times they underperform, esp in finals and decider matches.
Would appreciate if some of the more experienced folks could advice whether:
1. There are certain areas of team, eg. defence, where aged players are better than young players even when the young one is a star better.
2. How to decide between whether weather to go for a young player who will progress more with lesser greens OR keep an experienced veteran (may not be a single golden formula...just experiences are good)
I always like to have a mixtured squad. Older players bring experience to the table which is always necessary for the better development of younger players.
I find it extremely important especially in defence. Something like Milan of the good ol' days when they had all these extremely experienced players in the defence.
I've always found that an old wise head in midfield helps...
Especially for defenders that do not grow quality so much from the games gain quality, max age for me is 24.
Same for attackers, but as they can develop easier through season, if they are great performers it can go till 26-27.
Unfortunately I do not enough in-game resources, to maintain a solid 7* star team (which is my season target) and keep star old players.
At least last 5 season I sell them at the right time/at the right price so I have room to experiment and spend some tokens trying to find the ideal replacement.
It doesn't or shouldn't depend on age it should depend on what their star rating is.
What age is too old?
Simple answer: when he retires. ;)
Take a look at my old man... This guy will retire in my team... even if he drops to 54%. :o
This my oldman and also will play till retired

My best man is 31 years old topscorer, +1 goal per match ..
PS. not promoting in higher levels of course helps ;)
How do you guys keep 27 old player up to 30 yrs old?one of my corner taker just reached the 27 age threshold, now at 90%, since he top the assist chart in my team for past 5 season, I tried gave him greens but he doesnt budge. Kind like up 1% after 20 greens. Personal trainer not an option cos it require 128 tokens to up him by 4%.
They just stop needing to gain, really. Probably not all players at meant for long careers. Mine are very high in certain skills, and "1%" or less in most others.
Hi, since new training system has replaced the old one, I find my old players arrive at retire season in better conditions than before.
Old training system was something useless ( training results were not manageable) and dangerous ( lot of injuries occurred).
So players over 24 yo were already considered as old if performances went down for more than 1 season in a row.
Now, new training sessions allow you to discover how fast your players impove their main and staus attributes and keep players experiencing wrong performances as reserves (training and friendlies only) for an entire season,to evaluate them again next one.
So players are more suitable to maintain
a decent condition even when in the sunset way.
as long as you can keep a player in 5* quality, age doesn't matter.
A 4* cannot offer to a competitive team (unless the rest 10 are 8*-9* players :p )
