    Question Choosing starting XI ?

    Hey!
I would like to know, how other managers are choosing their starting XI.
There are ways to pick your starting XI :
    * Highest quality players. ( Picking players by stars )
    * Best performing players ( by form ).
    * Best skill % players. ( Like the players with highest def overall %, attack highest overall % )

    * By SA ? ( Players with defensive wall, shadow striker, one-on-one etc )
*** Also watching opponent formation and put counter formation against him, that's obvious...

What could be the most important? I know many would say that form is like the most important. ( How many goals, assists etc )

I always had the sensation that the game prepares the match scenario based in the starting team, looking at the stars... so i try to start with the better 11 in terms of stars...

Then I always tend to use the players that are tested and passed the exam, by appearing during the matches and give me a good contribution.
I do not care if a player have 6-7's form if he score 50% of matches or in 1/3.

I rotate some players, mostly more "supporting " positions for my formation. These are positions that rarely rate over 7.5 even in a good win. Most goals come from AMC and ml/Mr for my usual 4411 set up. Any other position might score, but less influential. So my MCs, st, and defense plus gk can swap out match by match, either looking for a new candidate, or refreshing players with decreasing form. I do like to keep specialists on, especially CK since that accounts for many of my wins.

I will drop my overall Q when playing a weak opponent, and if I am expecting hard match will choose based on form rather than Q (though usually Q difference is 10-15 between same position players). I but replacement players focusing on positions which rate inconsistently, not just low Q. My DR and AMC are under 80 but play as well as I need.

I do keep a back up GK and sub him... Sometimes gk has a bad day and it seems nothing improved it, sometimes the equal Q sub suffers the same fate.

I don't want to make a new thread so I would ask for your opinion in here.

Oliveti is FK specialist. Mendoza is my best player in the squad. I have tried both, but no good results...

I just don't get it...Why FK specialist don't score ( I know he has low stats ) but with high stats Mendoza ( sadly he is CK specialist ) also don't hit the target...
I have like 2-4 FK in game and at the best day I get 1 goal, mostly I will get 0...

Here are the players: ( Who do you think I should put to take free kicks ? )

Try player without the SA. A DC for example or the GK. I had time ago 4 or 5 FK specialists and no way, this depend of many factors really... so I suggest you do some friendly and test another player. If fail a FK, then change this during the match till see someone that scores. The same with the corners.

Free kicks seems to be just too random. Even if I had a 120% player with FK specialist SA, he missed more, than he scored...

For me form is the most important

And if I face similar or better opponents I tend to use morale boosters

The thing is, every player have a min. and max. effectiveness, then the game, that wants you to manage and too as I always say tend to do not be so paranoid, choose a "best player for FK and corners" and your job is test the players and find this best man. These players tend to work well during some weeks till, you notice perfectly a decrease in the ratio score, then is when you have to test again, sometimes one time per season, sometimes 2, buts more or less works like this.

My ST scores an average 2 of 3 free kicks. His quality is 116% with the sa of free kicks, but I specially raise him shooting, strength and finishing, this three stats are above 250%. I know that each player has his internal programming, but I think this three stats are the most important in order to score more free kicks
