Has anyone tried not getting promoted on purpose?
Or do you guys think it would be of advantage for next season?
Advantages of Non-promotion:
You can buy 5* players cheap on the market before new season
You can save money and tokens for transfers since you will have an extra season in the same level
You can save up reds/blue/green boosters as you will not need to use those if you decide non-promotion
Also another 28 days for your players to gain skills in training
Your players do not lose a star at end season with staying in the same league
More time to develop stadium upgrades
Better chance of winning league following season
Ideal for anyone deciding to take a break or away from the game by going on holiday/vacation.
Disadvantages of Non-Promotion:
No Champions League to play in next season
Another 28 days at the same level which can become boring for some managers
No prize money in league for 8th - 14th I believe... correct me if I'm wrong
Conclusion:
If your not likely to place between 1st - 4th in your league in the current season, then its best not to finish 5th - 7th place and avoid winning promotion.
Sometimes it can be hard to stay on the same manager level if you don't want to promote at the end of the season......maybe you can put also a un-official guide on the forum July :p
But without kidding, it's sometimes a good idea to decide not making a promotion indeed
Totally agree with July as I finished 7th the season b4 last and it was a real killer financially and 1 advantage that July did not mention you have less matches to play so your players have more time to rest or you can train more but I would advise to go for promotion purely for financial and that you can get better players.
Thx for the replies!
July will the advantage only be for one season??
The thing is I have 7 scout buyers in my league!!
1-3 place is out of reach... It would be a fight for 4th!
I'm a token buyer myself... I have a scout level team. I have 13 players 18-19yo all of them at 6 stars....that's why I'm playing with the thought to avoid promotion....
First season i intentionally chickened out of promotion. It is what i always do, even in FIFA.
Less matches to play? I'm not sure thats an advantage or disadavantage because your players should be able to cope with 2 competitive fixtures a day and recover enough condition for the next days games without any use of green packs plus squad rotation is always an option. Personally I like to be involved in all 3 competitions if I can otherwise for me it can be relatively a boring season. Since I got knocked out the cup in R2. I have played 24 friendlies against alt accounts or inactive friend clubs for boosters or some game $.
Ok so you would avoid promotion?
Would it be certain for me not to get promoted if I don't reach a promotion spot.
I'm thinking because my squad would be good enough to move up...I'm afraid that nordeus would screw my plans!! ;-)
Well you need to have a look at how many points 6th,7th,8th and 9th all have and how many points you have and whether you can lose most of these games by playing some illegal formations and OOP and if you have a few empty squad spaces or a few unimportant players you can sell those and buy a few 3* 0/5 players.
Sorry for many questions!
But will I benefit for more then one season???
I would say less matches is an advantage as when you are in more than one comp you don't always have a nice gap between matches as you know sometimes only 15 mins so in that respect it is an advantage
One is good enough for me. As i said, i stayed back one season. And the next season i was top dog in my league. Scored 62 points. Won the league with 9 points. Got promoted and now doing quite well in level 2. Top of the league and with a GD of +31 in 15 matches. Cant complain. But more than one is overkill.
Just take into consideration how good is your team at the start of the season. Compare with others and see. If your team is wayyy better than the opposition then go for the promotion.
I would not avoid promo more than once! I just wanted to know if I will be still benefitting in the seasons to come...
I would say weigh your options. If you still still feel that you have room for improvement at beginning of 2nd season, stay back. After all its football. It does not get boring! :)
i had same dilema last season where i might struggle finishing in top 4 but did not really want to end up 5th to 7th but in the end i went for it and so what ever position i finished so be it at least i knew i gave it a shot, well it paid of and sneaked 4th and this season i`m top 7pts clear of 2nd :)
July could you explain why...?
I'm I not a star ahead every season since my young player would be still progressing...?
Definately u will win league title nxt season as server set your league according to success and qualities.....
if I'm not wrong, u will have a nice trophy room by doing so but not more than a season.
There is no point to finish 5,6,7 position and get promoted...
And one more thing, if u decided to stay up for a season, i adviced u not to allocate your skills in the following season. dont transform your players into worldclass or legend. WHY?
as i said, server set your League, CUP according to qualities....
Staying up for a season, u will definately win tittle in the following season and by not allocating skill for that season, server will set u in low qualities pool, then after that, allocate your skills, u willhave chance to win triple......
Hope i'm correct ;)
If you stayed at the same level then your players would not be losing stars. but you would have a great deal of power that could keep players at your club for longer especially young players that they will be above average quality for 2 seasons since the season you avoid promotion.
@ice87s triple is impossible!
I won't be qualified for Cl because if I decided to avoid promotion....
Avoiding promotion is bs. In my first season, I was almost last, but hey, it was my first season and I begun playing in mid season, took me time to get the ropes and stuff, in the second season I was 3rd and (obviously) entered CL which was disaster but still, 3rd place in the group. And in 3rd season I finished 3rd altough, I fu**ed up when I put a ML without an MR, which gave me like 2-3 defeats after us 3 (top 3 teams) being undefeated and having some chances for the title. As I said, that ML gave me bad results but at least I finished in top 4. :o
Right now, I've had some really bad and weird defeats. For a week or so, I'm undefeated, still second, won against the first placed team 3-1 at home, he won 2-0 in the first part of season. The difference is 5 points and he has like 2 next matches against teams under 9th place just like me, except I have to face a guy who wants promotion and is 7th. Still, I hope I can win the league finally!
@ gamer_x why would you say that avoiding promotion is bs?
why not, after u avoid one season(1st season) u r sure to win league title in following season. During that season(1st season) dont allocate skills. So, your qualities will seems as low, then server
will put u in low quality pool in next season(2nd season). In that 2nd season, allocate all your skills that u saved during 1st season, so you will win triple ;)
I did that and I am happy, if you feel like you don't have mood or time for top11 better don't play and lose then to see trophies like 6,7th place in your trophy cabinet.
@ice87s ok now I got you!
I misunderstood. I thought you meant salicin sp this season and allocate them next season to go for the triple...
I see a lot of ppl fight for promotion. What's the difference you on the next level start over or same level start again with nothing? Another advantage is the cup if next year you are promoted and have lower quality on higher level. Plus avoiding strong opponents are for girls! I play with and without tokens, I have no problems!
fight and you may die. Run and you’ll live is best what ICE is trying to tell you.
He don't have any trophies, atleast he's got balls to fight! You spent 1500 usd and gotta stay behind like a little girl! Not only you can't manage your finance, you also need to grow a pair!
ps. I know you spent all your money already, next time your parents send you some, go get a hair cut! Who you think you are? Korean boyband?
To get this straight: 7th and down don't get promoted right? :D
In theory lower than 7.th yes, but there are teams lower that are promoted to fill out higher leagues, so it is not a sure thing
Attachment 46182
and it is more common than the stated rare occasions:rolleyes:
I obviously meant from under 7th. A little quick to post. Thanks for replies.
