Equal quality, same setups, same players ==> SAME OUTCOME?

At least, the score is consistent with the stats. I used to believe that unlike in real life, if both tream use the same tactic, the best one (on paper) loses (Clover). This would give strength to that belief. But recently, I prove this wrong sevral times. Verdict: I have no clue !!

I have not stop looking at the games to retrieve more info. I may find something.

For example I spotted one difference that makes me happy.

Central defenders of Milan were more consistent than mine.
Their rating were pretty high even in the match where Milan lost.
They are older players than mine, so keep training them in their good stats, boosted a lot their defense average.
This is a good clue , why Milan's defense reacted better than mine
