    DR-MR-AMR players - Defenders or attackers ?

From previous season when we had the new TE 2018 the DMR-DML positions removed from the game.
So we can have players as DR-MR-AMR.
I got one previous season, a young fast trainer and gave him also playmaker sa.
In some games I use him as DR and some as AMR (rarely I play with ML-MR).
He 's playing good in both positions but of course he gets better rates and MoM in the games he's playing as AMR.
In the only game he got MoM as DR, it was because I put another DR and moved De Boer as AMR (where he scored).
Also got another MoM which cannot be seen as he was a sub.
I give him mixed training and not using him as specialist in C-K or F-K.

Are there good or bad players ?
Are there good or bad defenders ?
Are the high category skills matter ?
    Where the Myth starts ?

I have a player in my team, Kurbanov who is DL-ML-AML.
And, man...He is the assist KING.
BTW I am playing him as a ML.
    He is my De Bruyne
    I m still around, LOL!

I know you don't believe in skills, Nik, but I do =]

MR and AMR are both attacking positions, so they are more or less similar, but DR is completely different. These three positions have only three skills in common: Crossing, Fitness, and Speed. Fitness and Speed aren't the problem (never was), but Crossing is. For DR the best drill for training Crossing is Defending crosses, for MR it's, arguably, Set-piece delivery, and for AMR -- Fast counter-attacks.

It is very much possible to have DR/MR/AMR, but he will be less effective. I try not to mix defenders and attackers.

My player Fischer was DMR/MR/AMR and became a DR after the update. Because I was playing 4-5V-1 I needed an AMR who scored and Fischer wasn't providing the job even after SS SA, so I got a new AMR. Luckily because of the new position I decided to keep him as a backup DR with Terrible results, he wasn't that bad in DMR position and actually shined in MR. I do believe that players perform better in some positions than others.

The thing is the game is so unfair to defenders and the GK in general. A clean sheet should reflect somehow positively on the ratings of the defenders but no, defenders are rated by the same standards as attackers, when a defenders scores, then he will see an increase of the rating. Also defenders get less experience skills than attackers on average.

BLIND usually playing as my left D winger (the other side of DE BOER).
He has better defending skills than DE BOER but the rates and the contribution to the team are about the same

BERGAMP usually playing as AML. Also his attacking skills are better but the rates and the contribution to the team are the same (if DE BOER was playing all the time as AMR).

I really don't see any difference in balanced skills and increasing (relative to position) skills.

Because you are comparing different players, and skills is not the only thing that affects performance.
None of these players is minimaxed, by the way, all the skills are balanced on your screenshots.
It may be a placebo, but I've never have my team being that effective like now, since I started to concentrate on 2-3 skills (mostly Fitness and Speed) instead of doing same old Press the play.
