No, it just means, they haven't renewed contracts. The match would be abandoned if they didn't have enough players.

No, the match will be played with old players generated by the system (32years old).

If the manager don't renew the contracts until day 7 of this season, he will lose his players and the old guys generated by the system will keep completing the squad.

Matches will not occur only when a team can't line-up 11 players...this normally occurs after mid-season with abandoned teams that plays with heavy tackle and receive a lot of cards and will have many injuries during the season.
