Your friend have to spend the same amount of tokens (in cash) to receive it. But i can be wrong.

It's the other way around. The person sending the gift has to have purchased tokens at least in the worth of the official emblem they are sending. Otherwise, they can only purchase it for their own team. This was done to avoid people abusing the system with alternate accounts.

I gifted my friend with a Arsenal Jersey and he has never bought tokens before so I don't think this is the problem

Thanks a lot mate, but i'm just a token farmer, i never purchased any token so i'll never receive it The point is, i'll never buy an official item, i still need 375/450T to be happy with my team, so you can understand why i'll not wasting them :P
