It 100% true but this kind of info is currently used by right wing people (both in France and abroad) to insinuate french players are not proper french people. That's why I hate these. I think the intention of that meme is to show how most people will support the underdog or the little guy. I myself have supported France since 98, but I wouldn't mind if a team like Croatia won. This is gonna be a win win final for me.
