I find it hard to understand how you can go from smashing 10 past him and keeping a clean sheet to struggling to score and letting in 5 in the process. Did you keep the same tactics? Bizarre!

I'm no genius on the subject on tactics but I think you should only defend with defensive formations. Like for 5-3-2 or something like that.
For your formation, I would go with normal against similar levels or attack against really weak sides, never go hard defending or hard attacking unless you're watching the match and need to hold on or chase the match late in the game.
my team @ http://forum.topeleven.com/team-show...ears-fc-2.html
League : winner (S1, S2, S3, S6, S7) , runner up (S4*, S5*) * was in holiday away
CL: Winner (S4, S7), runner up (S2, S3, S5, S6)
Cup: Winner (S3)
its the only match ive ever lost this season with the same tactic,i am 21/21 in the league, won 2-1 away in the up semi final, and won 4-0 in the ch league semi final...game cares only about the proper formation,as long as you have both defensive backs and right/left midfielders you automatically get more possession, and dont receive a single posession loss due to off-looking formation
take a look no defeats just a single draw...![]()
I changed my tactics hours before a league match and a cup match. I changed from 4-2-3-1 to 4-5-1V.
I lost to a far weaker side in my league and I lost 2-1 at home and away against the cup opponent.
Imagine my frustration as before this point I was unbeaten and got too cocky.
Your opponent had 3 strikers and was a threat down the wings, so he obviously went for the jugular. His attack is overwhelming.
All he had to defend against was your right winger and lone striker.
I'll bet that you went attack, whole pitch, short passing?
