Yeah, they could. But then you would compete in a Lvl 4 league and CL as well since there aren´t any lvl/teams above us. Think we are at the "top" of our lvl/server

I share same thought, and was in same spot earlier on. Managed to win the league from lvl 1 - 3 and then got to a CL final which I lost after a penalt-shoot out. But when it came to the CUP, I just didn´t stand a chance from all scout/T-buyers.. Then this season I decided to invest and here we are: Quarter-finals.

I´m not saying that you can´t get/earn sucess without paying/buying for a a nice squad, but It´s quite impossible nowadays, especially on my server.

No, it's not impossible. I'm no token buyer, nevertheless I won the cup last season when i was level 6 (cup was lvl8)

Often I have thought about buying tokens but I would prefer to win without paying for success, more working for it.

The current cup format is HELL for token buyers, especially on older servers where they get chucked in a cup to play non-token buyers a few levels above themselves that can buy 5* players off the transfer market to blow you out the water with not much of an investment in tokens but have the quality because they are 3 levels above you.

On newer servers I've noticed the cups are going to be dominated by the heaviest T-Buyers across the entire server so even for mediocre T-Buyers/T-Farmers its very difficult.

I'm on a older server but not at the top of it by any means and I've had 3 cup titles on the end of the old cup format, and even that was because I power trained my players to compete with players 2/3 levels above me in the Semi's/Final. If the old cup format was still around it would be likely I would be playing my friend team in the final every season from now on. It took me a year to rise up through the levels to become major contenders for winning the cup and now that I got there... Nordeus change the format.

I'm pleased I power trained my players and won the cup 3 times when I did because it won't be anytime soon I will get anywhere near winning the cup under its current format.

It´s true, and I can only speak for myself and from own experience. Due the old cupformat the lvl/players (3* - 7*) were quite shuffled but now only the "best/greatest" from every lvl stand a chance to advance/compete, the rest gets eliminated in the KO-stage.

The League & CL are different. The top 3 are mostly made of 5*-6/7* teams and the rest are 4/3* or abandoned.

Im level 10, and i never got through the champions league group, and never passed the qualifining part of cup!!! i dont buy tokens, but i have a lot of them and i invest them in good things!!

It's not like I have that much experience, since I only got to play 3 matches in the first season and finished 7th and I'm now on the 3rd level. However, I got into the Cup semi-final on the second season. I am yet to win any trophy even and I just lost another match to a player that is 10 skill below me - unless that lucky guy in the 1st place loses 2 in a row, there's no league championship for me again, even with the strongest team in the league by far. My only realistic target at this point is the CL and it's not like there isn't decent competition there. From what I've seen here on the forums, most of you guys have got at least 1 trophy every single season, and with little effort.

My point is - it's either completely random, or some teams are just bound to win a certain set of trophies and some are not.

When I won the champions league I came up against teams the same level than me, if not 1 above me. I met a scouter in the final which July Fourth helped me win.

So it is possible to win the Cup, I know it is. It's just I've had serious scouters that are scouters in their level which is normally 2 or 3 above me.
