Ouch, that bites... I think that formation at the end is illegal, you don't have to be so attacking you know, it only works 10% of the time. Usually, I just tweak some orders replace one player and it does the job, but having 3 wide defenders against 2 strikers and an AMC is really asking for trouble, especially with them being the only players in the half

One thing I tend to notice in the game is that everytime there is a 'Long Ball Clearance by *****', it seems to count as a shot.

As dv8r said, you had no defence in that game. If he was playing long ball his attackers would get lots of chances

Well, if he was playing defensive with forced counters other players would be able to cover - whereas you were probably playing offensive, leaving more gaps in behind
