Why I lost to AFK team? :confused:

This season game out comes seems to be heavily against me

I scouted a strong team every season and dominated through all leagues and cup in the past
This season I'm losing a lot to much weaker teams even though the playing stats heavily favores me. I watch my games with supporters getting 15% posession and fully rest my players
Really seems like the game engine is rigged
Just lost a cup game 1-2 to some one 43.4% lower and his players have no special abilities

Is there something I can do or is the game engine is completely broken

I am seeing exactly the same thing and my season is going pretty much in the same fashion. I won the League 5 seasons out of 6 and runner up last season. This season, same team with a couple of updated players yet I am struggling to hold onto 6th place. I am losing games where I dominate against teams that have GK who have the game of their lives against me making numerous saves. My FK specialist and legendary AML has every free kick just skimming the crossbar or a magnificent save. Something has definitely changed because my team and tactics have not. But.... TE2019 is 2 days away and a whole new can of worms is about to be released!

You're probably already doing this, but just in case you haven't, please check your winning bonus and morale. Although many will say these things doesn't matter, I personally feel they do.
