    Curse of the Cup

Can't seem to get past the Prelims. Never.

    Curse of the Cup-cup-3-1-loss.jpg

    This is what happened.

Weirdly, I went 0-1 up and then conceded 3 just like last season in the first leg of Qualifiers.

I tried 4-1-4-1 and it was 1-1 so I changed to 4-5-1V and immediately conceded 2 goals.

All his goals were assisted from his CB's and scored by his strikers.

No doubt he counter attacked at home and long balled it. His defence got 8's and the rest his squad got 7's.

I'm thinking of just going for it at home. 3-5-2 flat, attack, whole pitch press, mixed passing, offside, if I get desperate, 3-4-3. What you guys think?

Please help me shake this curse haha.

Never use 4-5-1 v against ANY 3 striker formation. I learned the hard way in the CL last season and in the league in level 5.

A 3-5-2v formation is more effective, as is a 3N-3MC-2W-2 formation

Noted. I'll remember that in future. Thank you very much. You've been a big help lately. I learn a lot from you, thank you.

I'm a big fan of v styles so I think I'll use that. Especially at home. What do you reckon if I play offside and whole press, aslong as my defenders are faster?

I'm still trying to understand the game engine and to be honest the offside trap is a load of rubbish. I tested it last season several times against noob teams with no offside trap and offside trap and I tended to concede more goals with offside trap... Against noob teams as well!

Whole pressing still needs testing, however I score more goals with an attacking mentality and own half pressing. It also reduces the chances of you being hit on the counter attacks, especially if you have red arrows on your defenders.

As @Dv8r already said. Also, if you have more then 1 good striker, why use only 1? I don't get it sometimes, and in this kind of tournaments when it is "win or get eliminated" situation you need goals! Play offensive and attack, attack and attack. Let your opponent defend or play "counter-attacks", let him think that you have the advantage.

Because mate, my right winger is beastly, I prefer balanced tactics and from my experience 4-3-3 is an all or nothing tactic, big win or bigg loss. I tried to keep a tidy result so I could determine the second leg at home. Next time I'm going almost gung-ho. Going for the win.

I signed my first scout from the scout list today. I think he looks a decent defender.
