absolutely right. but I for one cant be bothered to 'dumb down' my team by lowering the quality of my team just before the cup draw just to chase a trophy where the prizes don't warrant it. without the distraction of the cup more training time this season!
You would not have to dumb down, you would have to have to sell off your team, but there is also a possibility the system may take a reading of your quality every day and calculate your average quality for the season to calculate your cup draw for the next season. so even selling off your entire team may not work either.Originally Posted by fingermouse27

Sorry about your misfortune Ro. From what I'm seeing lately, there's been a change in the game and TACTICS have become absolutely vital. Quality difference has become almost insignificant.
The forum seems to bear that out as well (all the rants about high quality teams being beaten by lower quality, and yet if you look close, those high quality teams in a majority of cases are using poor or inefficient tactics.
Maybe it's just my perception, though.

i won the cup last season v token buyerthis season expected to go out in first round as was playing team above with same quality and 1st leg home went 1-0 down only to come back to win 2-1 second leg again 1-0 down so thought after time was ticking down i`m out on away goals but know i make 1-1 but 2 mins later they go 2-1 up, here come extra time and possible pens ? but no 82 mins i make it 2-2 so can relax a tad but then 85 mins i score again to make it 3-2 and 5-3 on agg.

Think the cups decent! gives me a chance to play and beat teams that are better than me. The league and champs league im always pretty confident about winning, the cup has a sense of achievement when i take a big scalp.
First round this year, put a team 7 quality higher than myself to the sword (1-0 at home 0-1 away and won it after my keeper saved a penalty) Next opponents much the same, full of scouts. If he puts me out ill have lost to a better team and if i win ill be loving it
