What did you guys do when your star player suddenly playing badly after 2-3 matches. I have a star player (AMR position) who scored rating like 9-10-10-9-10 in first half of the season. He also scored 45 goals to date. Suddenly goals & assist been dry for the last 2-3 match. And getting less FK (he's also got FK SA). Any tips on how to get this player back in form. Thanks in advance

I have experienced a similar sort of thing way back in the past, where a player, an MR/AMR with free kick special ability was scoring in every free-kick or so from the highlights. Later that season, he was struggling to score free-kicks as if he changed his foot.
I noticed other similarities too in other cases, and yes, they became like dry. They felt like heavy and lost their talent.
Bench him or train him some more... or play a friendly against a much weaker team to get his form back
I didn't throw mine in the benche because lucky he traded goals to assists but i did as maloukees sai, a couple of friendlys to get him back on track (with the event its hard to tell but since yesterday he's scoring like crazy and i have won all the event games (one oponent left)Quote:

I just drop players if they do not deliver after some matches unless I do not have a decent player as alternative, but then I will be in the market to look for one and maybe even a replacement. I dropped my fast training DC with Aerial Defender special ability this season, and I even prefered playing a lower quality but better performing DC that provide solidity at times in the past. The same was done to the GK I bought from the daily recommended list. The DC of course still has a future in the team if he improves later. I also sold another DC, same fast trainer with same special ability this season for the same reasons. He was bought last season, was a first team player, but I rarely felt his presence (except in 1-2 matches) and he was finally sold to make place for other players after being judged by me to be the worst central defender in the team performance-wise. I like players that perform well and are consistent. Form is something but there are players that may get a 9 once a while but in most matches, they get 6 or 7s. Those players are undesirable. Better have players that will give an 8 in every match or so.Quote:

Suppose that a new player was bought and signed, even if the new player does not have any same positions with the affected player, what do you suggest, to sell him or sell someone else? This is negative playing. I understand that there is this possibility of a reshuffle of hidden roles in a team after a new player is bought, but then if so, what, the user never buys a new player again in fear a bad reshuffle could happen? All is calibrated by the engine, so, this happens.

Just all of a sudden. I added a new right back early in the season. The rest are the same player from last season. Just did couple of friendlies. 1st match nothing. 2nd friendly game I change his position to AML (his playing position AMR/AMC/AML), he scored 2 with rating 9.5. Is there any logic that player with multiple position must be rotated at some point? I played him on the right all the time.Quote:

Say you have a team of 11 first team players, and 8 reserves. You go buy a new player because you think, as a manager, you lack cover say in the MC area. In your main formation, you use 2 MCs, and with the new MC, you have a total of 4. Suppose this new MC has been given more contributive power, how is that suppose to affect your team? No, usually those who have multiple positions, perform better in a specific one, cause this depend of the other players, and the own game I guess that assign a position inside your team, that you need to cover with a contributive player to see your team playing fluidly and, that particular player, scoring from there.Quote:

Then people comes here complaining cause, my ST dont score, but, usually they have 3-4 players that are doing the job in terms of providing goals/assists.

That's how it works, your job as manager, is try to understand this, know your players, test them, and choose the better options, using your perception and checking out how they perform despite the skills they have visually.
Yeah but what is a user supposed to do in the above case I described. The user bought an MC for cover, but the game decided the new but slow training, old MC to be the key man and nerfed his AMR. What is the user supposed to do in that case? That will be really annoying and even enraging if such things happen. This game clearly needs a better AI. Clearly, if such things happen, the game penalises the user for making good managment decisions. For example, in the case I have given, the user made the best decision to buy another MC as cover because he has only 3, but then he gets penalised for doing so, that too by affecting one of his first team players that has not been even assigned that position. This will be a sort of never ending thing where the user will keep buying players to counter this effect, but the game will keep playing dirty tricks on him by affecting other good players in his team.Quote:

Yea that what I've been trying to avoid. Been chasing a treble season after season but it all ended in heartbreak. First half of the season started very brightly for me. I'm leading the league currently with 8pts gap. But tough opponents await in Cup comp & champions league. That's where I feel the real challenge is. Need all player to perform like in the first two weeks.Quote:

If you can afford, just get another player to deputise for him, and maybe if you can, get someone that could be even his successor if you do not already have one in your team. This is quit some ****, isn't it? You bought a GK from scout list to improve your team and suddenly it is your AML that takes the beating when there should be no relation between the two. Put your GK to take free kicks and corners; maybe he will assist and also score a lot. ;)Quote:

The only problem with the observational approach is that performances can vary so widely across opponents depending on quality, formations and tactics. Did my AMR have a great day because the opponents DL was weak, or were they playing 3w at the back against my 2(AMR/AML)-2 front or did they attack when I was playing DEF with Counters ON? There are a lot of variables.
Based on this thread I have gone back through many of my games to see if I could identify a common set of players that led to “abnormally good” outcomes. I then took that group of players and played the exact same 11 with the same formation and orders against a strong CUP opponent. 3-0 win one game where my AMR dominates, 2-0 win the second where he couldn't hit a wall but his teammates stepped up. Both good wins is good but I really can't work out who was contributing what.
So the best option is having a great eleven players and no bech? What do you think khris?Quote:
