Now things get interesting: we smashed our opponents in the cup QF first leg, 5-1. In the semis we would probably face a team that is the same quality as us.*

Now the tricky part: how to counter this formation? It just seems they got player on the pitch, and I never am able to find the proper counter to these line ups, that looks with player on the pitch just to sent 11 guys out there, but they're not, cos they've got the right people in the right positions. Yet they seem made with no criteria whatsoever to my eyes.

    Any suggestions?*

My thought: Congest the midfield, play possession football - the easy way to score against a congested defence, scanty midfield, and only one striker is free kicks, and that is what possession football gives you in T11.
On the other hand, do not play deep or serious attack, that team looks perfect in counter-attack. The game engine favours defensive and counter-attack teams, be careful.

    On another news:
The Nebuchadnezzar got trolled out of CL, now we play SL. Hopefully, we will bag the SC via this cheap league.

Sorry am just seeing this: 4-5-1 would do the trick.
Have you played the match? How did it go?

I'll face the opponent on Wednesday. I'll go for the 4-5-1 then. Shall I play with defensive mentality, low pressing and counter attack?

It depends: two things are involved - the game engine & his team mentality.

For some reason, the game might punish you for using "force counter" - once I see my boys loosing possession, committing many fouls, I turn it off.

I find normal mentality to be very good when I want possession, I think its also good against defensive mentality, but very weak against attacking mentality . I personally don't like defensive football, with that bias I cannot recommend a defensive game. I only play defence when my opponent is at least 5% higher in quality. So if you think he is playing attack and you are at home, by all means attack back...

Low pressing... you don't play low pressing if you want to win a match. I only use it when am the favourite and am ahead with about 2 goals - just to save my player's condition for tough opponents.

Counter-attack is nice when playing normal or defensive mentality, but too demanding on the players when playing attack (definitely useless when hard attack is already on).

See, I think the above should guide you into victorious choices .

Thank you Nebu!! I'll post the result here. Getting sent off the cup again, in semis, would be hard to accept

I don’t like the Super League, I Won it 2 times, I do not want to ever win it again. It is too easy, I won the Champions League once which was last season and got the super cup.

I prefer to drop into the SL than to loose of the CL in knockout stages. At least my boys still get some matches to play and grow, little cash to be made, SL is better than no trophy at all, and also the possibility of a quadra in the Super Cup.

That's plenty advantages if you ask me.

Yeah fair enough, I like to go for the CL, I just enjoy it more, I have won the Super League twice already and I have only won the Champions League once which was last season.
