I mean, training a new position or special ability requires rest packs. Either directly or indirectly. Training the whole squad 25x with maximum set of drills as well. Playing friendlies and winning could work if you're the away team as you wouldn't waste condition (wouldn't gain any packs either on the other hand, but it's just a rest pack, the other i could live without as I have a surplus already).

And other activities seem far fetched, like winning auctions with 5 bidders. I'm not interested in expanding the squad.

So investing rest packs (in)directly and cash.

Hmmm. For 25* training I used very easy drill so only 4.5 condition drain per training and with 10 percent extra condition from condition boost I finished this task without spending any thing extra.

For buying a player with 5 bidders I claimed my upto 40 percent token back and then bidded on a player which had exactly 4 bidders, I got him for 5T and got 2T back.

Yes had to do some sellling. For that I sold my 3 and 4 star players. For training new position and SA I had put on hold my few fast trainers for this only.

You're right. I did some calculations and decided it's worth it to push to level 13 and get the premium.

And luckily, luck struck again when it comes to SA. I assigned the second SA option to the same player that received the first one (free kick special ability) and he got shadow striker. Which is fine for an AML.
