Player Weight & Height...do they have an impact during a game?

As the title says..was wondering if a player's height & weight actually have an impact on his playstyle (eg. You will concede less goals from corner kicks or crosses if you have tall defenders )

I've been told that when the developers were asked this particular question here on the forum, the answer was that those attributes are pure cosmetic.
