You have seen it in 3D and known it through Season in Review. Now it’s time to show it!

The first day of the season 168 brings a brand new game mode - Proving Grounds. Seize the opportunity to win amazing rewards and show you’ve got what it takes in this season-long event!

Chapters

The event has four Chapters inspired by a class act match from England’s football history. Your job as a Manager is to challenge the featured team, recreate managerial mastery and complete a set of objectives that will help you progress in the event. The Chapter match can be played an unlimited number of times and every season day you get a free entry. Chapters unlock periodically throughout the season, so keep an eye on the timer.

Objectives

Every Chapter has its own objectives that need to be completed in a match against the featured team. Achieving an objective earns you points that will put you forward towards Chapter rewards. Some objectives can be completed multiple times in one match (i.e. Score goals), while others can be completed only once per match (i.e. Have at least one Free Kick Specialist). Each time you play a match you can complete the same objectives all over again.
During a match you can check the objectives by clicking on the ‘Objectives’ tab. At the end of the match you’ll get the Objectives report where you can check out your objective progress and earned points.

Rewards

In each Chapter you have a chance to earn great rewards! By collecting points from objectives you’ll progress on the Chapter rewards track that offers different rewards, from resources to all-new seasonal boosts. Bear in mind that you can claim a reward only once. Football masterminds who manage to complete all the given objectives per Chapter in only one match will take home the exclusive Master reward.

Let’s check out how some of the brand new rewards work!

• Seasonal Role Boost is an effect that enhances the predetermined attribute of a certain role. Similar to Seasonal Role Boost, the Seasonal Playstyle Boost is also an effect that improves certain attributes of players who own a specific Playstyle, depending on its level. Make sure to place your players in the right role, and in case of a Playstyle boost have at least the Standard level unlocked in order for the boosts to apply. Once claimed, these effects will apply to all eligible players in matches until the end of the season.
• You can also improve your players by training them with more efficient Limited Training Drills. This reward unlocks a new level of Training Drills - Legendary level. It has a limited number of uses and can be used until the end of the season, so plan your training sessions wisely and make the most out of them!

Achievements

Proving Grounds offers 2 kinds of achievements:

• Lifetime Achievement can be earned by unlocking all milestones on the Rewards track for all four Chapters during the season.
• Special Achievement can be unlocked when you win all four Master rewards during the season.

Transfer Focus

Transfer Focus is also a new addition brought by Proving Grounds. You can find it in the Transfer screen representing all featured players of the current theme. These players will come with an increased attribute, so watch out for them in Auctions, Scout, Assistant or Recommended tab!

Note that the Negotiations tab won’t be affected by the Transfer Focus.

It’s not even every 12 hours; we have 1 free play per season day. And yeah, I’m sure second chapter will cost at least 15T.

Sure enough, in my free play against Denmark, we went for penalties after 0-0 in 120mins with 20+ shots. Then Denmark missed all 3 penalties leading me to a win. In other words, the match was “destined” to be completed with just 1 objective incomplete so that I’m tempted to pay the token price to try again.

Yup, my second match, won 4-0, with of course, 19 shots (had 18 in my first match).
What a joke.
And yes, now the free play is in 24 hours. These guys are simply awful.

The last chapter even getting weird... Maybe the opponent gonna be the lowest quality lol...
So, we must do a hatrick, with 1 from counter. 3-0
But we must do the goal difference to 2 goals. I think we must do a 3-1 score match. What kind of football is this...

the weirdest 1 is stage 2 next week.
where everyone have to score with MR that's false winger in order to master that stage.
that's like very hard to find for top11 managers. well i have 1 but he's 2-3* only

the freekick specialist will be a problem for me because i have set piece taker.

The matches are definitely scripted and we have no influence. Just finished another match, won 4-0. I had 12 shots in 37 mins, and finished the match with 19! I’m sure we’ll see wins of 3-1 but our ST scoring just 2 early on and then missing everything. Or our free kick specialist will score only on active play and no free kick goals.

As I said before, the event is designed to make us go so close but not too here so that we will be tempted to pay the token price believing we’re going to reach the objectives in the next match.

I've got 3 teams at different levels - 17, 74 & 109 and completed the Denmark master award in 1 game for 2 teams and on the 2nd go for the other, so they are achievable

I think we can manage that. Just buy it from the market, whatever the star is. And put him as penalty taker and freekick taker.

Nordeus sums up their aspect of the football knowledge by different gk jerseys on a substitution for the same team. Was captured in Proving grounds official yt tutorial.

as if it was easy to find decent 1 from the market. no way im gonna waste tokens bidding wars with other managers for that
and the team on 1st stage already difference 5% and it's hard to manage 20shots.
imagine the 2nd stage

This event is so messed up.
Day 3, free play, and I lose 1-2 with the exact same team and tactics as i have used Day 1 and Day 2 (won 3-0, and 4-0)

I got this one only 1 token. There are 2 eventually, the other one is 57%. And no one take it. I think nobody notice the demand for stage 2. To get 20shots, you should go for extra time.

Take your scripted matches and shove it… I managed to take the game to extra time with 16 shots, then I had 18 shots by 105th min. And finished with 19 shots!

Have your stupid developers work on the actual functions of game (like having the correct players on the bench when I start a match), not on finding ways to extract money from and frustrate the managers.

Chapter 2.

Where does it say the False Winger has to be MR?

My false winger is ML.

My MR scored but did not acheive the objective?

Is there a way to display match after it has finished?

Proving grounds ? More like Scripted Grounds....incredible amount of nonsense objectives

For Nordeus I guess it is more important to have a False Winger and a Free kick specialist rather than to win the game ? Then why is it called "Proving grounds" if to win the game is not the main objective ? At this pace i don't see a way to reach 140 points on Greece phase if for example you win 3-1 (rarely with me) that gives you 15 points for goals, and 8 points IF you have false winger and FK spec....that gives you 23 points per game since my MR can't score and i didn't score from free kicks once.

This is by design to push us to spend tokens, but i will not be pressed to do this

another thing, I played 2 matches of that second phase and i didn't even have a foul in my favor. not even one. in 2 games.

Pretty much the same.
Just finished my 2nd match, only 1 foul/free kick that of course my MR with False Winger playstyle ballooned in to the stands (and the text commentary said it was close). Such a joke.
And yes, only 1 free kick also in the first match.

And during normal matches i have at least 5 or 6 free kicks and score about 80% of them.
Dumb game

3rd match.
1 foul received (1 free kick that was way off target of course)
I put my MR with False Winger play style as my Striker position for the 2nd half and he hit everything way out.
I give up with this stupid scripted money sucking game (I don’t spend any $)

There is something wrong with chapter 3. How can I win the match and make the match go to penalties?

Nordeus is just terrible at explaining things, and well horrible with just the English language in general (and football knowledge of course)

So weird, why this is easier than the level 2. They should swap level 2 and level 3.

This is f…ing stupid. I played the whole second half against Colombia with 11 red warnings in my squad; my striker was in GK position, GK is in AMC, defenders are wingers etc. Colombia team which has a higher AvQ than my team could not score 1 goal against 11 out-of-position players. My striker playing goalie even had a rating increase!

The sad thing is, I have to play this 100% scripted event to earn those skill bonuses, in the off chance that they actually have an impact, because my opponents are most likely playing it, too.

i do my best to try and give colombia a draw and i always score a late goal even though i'm playing people out of position subbing in bad players. it's so damn hard to try and draw intentionally.

That’s been my whole experience except the last one. I even had a match go to extra time, but then I scored on 113th min, after which the match time counter almost immediately jumped to 119.
