    Are star ratings irrelevant?

I ask this because i am level 6 i brought a defender my first season and a few seasons of training him daily his player stats for a defender are good HOWEVER a few seasons of this 20% star reduction thing has lowered his star rating.

But his his stats stayed and are still good and he is a much better defender stat wise than some of these higher 'star rating' defenders in transfer section. So are star ratings kind of pointless?

would you go for stats over star rating? cause it seems this game lowers the star ratings and make it seem the player is bad so you will buy new players using tokens although his stats are better

The game has a system where each star has 5 points more of cost per level, so at level 1 the 5th strt is 20 average points and at level 2, it is 25 points, and so.
Then, I would not look at the visual skills but at the programming of the player itself.
Test him, follow his ratings pattern and check out his behaviour in terms of aggressivity so only keep him if its worth in that sense.

First off they should never ever take away 20% This system simply ruins the game for all managers who simply want to play the game without spending a fortune in real money. I understand that the game was created to make money for whoever owns it. However, there are ways of making money and then there are the Nordeus ways of making money. This game is in reality not designed for people to play it simply because they like and enjoy playing football and trying to win and do well. No! This game is designed for people who either are scam artists or just have a lot of money to blow on a game. Otherwise, quite frankly it's not for fun. I have truly ceased having fun with it for quite a number of months about 5 or 6 to be exact. Since they decided to increase the price for everything the game has become more and more a spending-to-win-based game than it had ever been. Yes, the game has greatly improved the graphics and functionality of the gameplay but that is all it has improved. It's useless in a sense to improve functionality and cosmetics while leaving everything else to the mercy of who can afford to spend more and more real money in order to get results. It's a game for crying out loud not a career or a job. Until they decide to make all things more affordable for everyone and equalize the game structure so that it is more competitive the fun part will only exist for the big spenders, on the other hand, we, the others will simply be the ladder rungs they will step on on their way up to their success. So Nordeus if you are listening and if you care ( you don't we know) stop taking away 20% quality every season and stop giving us the story that when a team promotes to a higher league they compete with higher quality opponents. Sure that's true but in reality, there comes a time when a team reaches the top league and competes there. Teams do not promote from one league to another for eternity. So you must change this system and make it more like the real world of football. If you want us to promote for a number of levels that is understandable, but there comes a time in reality when a team that has reached the highest possible level no longer promotes, if anything it demotes or better relegates to a lower league. I repeat it many times, however., if Top Eleven does not change this this game will never ever be fun anymore for most of us. The game should be as in reality, the first four teams are promoted, the last four are relegated to the lower level, and the rest stay at that level until they are promoted or relegated. No one loses quality this way everyone remains competitive and can grow their team at their own pace and control the cost. This can eliminate tanking and equalize the quality of teams in every new season and in every competition. Prizes for winning leagues and other competitions should be more than the money we win now, we should win tokens for winning and placing within the first 4 in the league and for winning and placing within the first 4 in other competitions. CL and SL should be available only when teams reach the no-promotion level, in other words, the top league. That's how real football works. So this game either follows the real football pattern or please stop telling us this game follows the reality of real football.
