Before last season end, I kept my team at an total 14 players average quality of 75%, I have 14 players only. And I got draw with some 150% and above opponent this season, I lost CL amd Cup in the 2nd week. I wonder is the draw mechanic still the same?

Still the same, the update that will change pairings will be available in the upcoming seasons.
As I've already started, stay tuned because its a worth technical improvement.
