Assigning/Saving Skill Points

Has anyone any experience of whether assigning skill points reduces the speed/effectiveness of Hard Training a player?

I received an 18 year old from my academy this morning and on his first hard training session he gained 3 skill points which I decided not to assign, he has gained 3 skill points from each hard training session since and I've been saving these also.

I'm concerned that if I assign the skill points (and improve his rating as a result) that he might start to earn less skill points in future sessions? or is it just his age that effects this?

You are correct in your assumption that assigning the skill points will affect the rate at which he will gain further points.
The higher level of skill a player goes, the less he will amass skill points for training/playing match's etc.

||Some people on here collect skill points all season without assigning them because of this, then assign them all In one go at the beginning of the new season.

That's not right...ive heard a few times on this forum that you should give out skill points as soon as possible...NEVER save...

I've always given mine out straight away so that the player is constantly improving throughout the season...

Either way I'll save them till I've got enough to get him to Superstar level and assign them then

nope. the system recognises unassigned skill points. confirmed by many veterans in this game. so theres absolutely no point to save.

One of my Eighteen year olds gains 3 skill points for each hard training session, 2 of them only gain 2 skill points each training session.

One of my Eighteen year olds is on skill rating 32, two of them are on skill rating 40, I have saved skill points for all 3 of them (the 32 rating player has enough saved SP to get him to 41 rating).

Not conclusive, but it looks as though skill rating does have an effect on how many skill points a player gains, and unassigned skill points seems to not have any effect.
