We need new Special Abilities... How about a player that takes long throw ins like Rory Delap?
So players will not be able to accept or reject friendly match invitations? I've tried to get answers about it on the proper thread but no answers. The thread has 9 pages of people wanting to be able to reject friendlies but there is no update on what is happening and its been a month now. The 3 hour minimum is a load of rubbish and changes very little.
"A player with an activated special ability will perform as though he were of higher quality for as long as this ability is active."
can you explain how a special ability can become inactive?
The easiest example would be the penalty kick stopper. Active during penalty kicks and then inactive for the rest of the game.
They are all situational is basically what they're saying.
Hi all, this is my 9th season, but I still do not exactly know what shadow strikers do. Can someone tell me?
How about new features being added to the game, we have mourinho in our friends list and was told there would be special features ect to do with him so not to delete him yet ive seen nothing new in the game in a while except the new snazzy trophies woooooooo did anybodt really want them....c'mon guys lets get some new features added to the game
It is written on the official top eleven wiki that a player acts as 1star higher when his SA activates. So, let's say, a corner specialist has 50 sp on crossing. Will his cross rise to 55 when taking a corner? Or does " 1star higher" translate differently?
Ceci est très intelligent et très utile, je connais quelqu'un qui se plait et sera ravi d'entendre ce commenter...
Good good
is there something wrong with the special abilities page .. all the links don't work
Gr8.... can u please explain to us the use if red or blue arrows, properly???? There are many theories about that and no clear explanation. And as July said, some new special abilities will be gr8, what about a super fast runner like Walcott!!!!! Or maybe a "Diving specialist" like Ronaldo!!!! Or what about an expert in breaking legs!!!!
The game makes no difference with or without Special Abilities, so why have new ones?
My gk without 1on1 stopper is better than the one with. My wingers are better at free kicks that a striker with a free kick ability. Playmakers appear useless and can't pass. The only one that i've found worth having is the corner takers.
Well since I have spent lots of skill points in SA for some of my players, I hope it was worth it. Basicaly the way I see it you need a couple of aerial defenders, 1-2 defensive wall, 1 playmaker, 1 one-on-one stopper GK and another one for penalties, 1 shadow striker (my AML is scoring about the same with my striker and since I favorite 4-5-1V, I love the idea of an extra striker.) Also a couple of corner specialists (1 in team, 1 in reserves.) And finnaly a couple of free-kick specialists, one-on-one attacker for the strikers and this is it. I use my young players 18-25max to learn the SA so I get to keep them for as long as possible. On another matter witch is the extra position of a player, I rarely find myself in need to train a player for it BUT! My second striker (20yo, one-on-one scorer) is training for the AML possition as well atm. This will help my team to change from 4-4-2 flat to 4-5-1V. I use these 2 formations due to the fact that 4-4-2 flat is an ez mode formation to have while you are not online at the moment that the match is played and secondly if you are online and watching you can let your team score 1-2 goals and change it easily to 4-5-1V virtualy without any subs (although usualy this is a nice time to bring fresh players into the match, change your tackling to easy so you avoid cards, change presure to own half and basicaly have the whole team hug your goalkeeper :D) I have in my mind to write a guide on this technique but first I need to know if SA works and how. Why there is none here that can answer this simple question? Are SA useful or they just have them there for us to spend more money?? Excuse my grammar but its 9:30 in the morning and I hopefuly after this post will get some sleep.. /cheers #La Ku
It always depends the quality as well, as for yea i confirm a goalie like scout(without sa) is better than a 5 star with any ability, n for the others, they work but also depends who is ur opponent, like a 5 star free kick specialist won't score often vs a scout goalie o higher, if oponent has same quality player then they work well, but vs higher they work much less. Like my goalie scout no ability doesn't make me worried vs a striker with 1:1 if he isn't at least a 5 star striker
Necro alert. ;) Say no to Voodoo - or your doll gets the pins. :D
Talking to myself............... I'm not going to start this SA thing again, I'm not going to start this SA thing again.....! Where is that section on SA? ok I'm not going to start up on this SA thing again.
Best is one on one scorer. :D
none work for me, they just don't make any differnce period
My current 1* 24Q DL/DC was the first I trained an SA on and ive kept him in my squad for 5 seasons. He only plays 8-10 matches a season but he is always on point rating 7-9. He scored the first and last goals in my last league victory as well. Some players just overplay their stats. He was my captain for the last half on s1 and all of s2. His notable achievements include 3 seasons unhurt, winning a cup tie with the last penalty kick, and holding the top rated striker in my last season league to 0 goals both times we played. I think he was an academy player but it's impossible to confirm that now.
Every player I have put an SA on has raised their performance and come up clutch in one game or another. The first MC I put corner specialist on is still my leader in assists and he's been gone 2 seasons and only played 2. I find stats to be misleading as there are so many tankers in lower leagues that it's easy to score 20 a season in all competitions. They also sell better and I want my club to be one of positivity and growth not greed and pride. That's why I put an SA on nearly all fast trainers I buy.
I think that people are forgetting that certain formations and playstyles affect the trigger rate of your players' SA. Like you aren't going to trigger your one on one scorer if you play a narrow formation with 2 or more strikers and go short passing. Not that he won't score goals, he just is more likely to trigger his SA if you play him alone with a long ball/counter attacking playstyle. Or playing a playmaker mc in a 442, he's just not likely to get many chances for incisive passes if the opponent is playing 5 midfielders/or 2 dmcs.
So yeah it's not as profitable to do it, especially with the bull**** semi-random way that your player's wages increase as you put points into them in the first 2 seasons of their contract, but having young players with SAs that are a little below average help your Q average and cup/CL/league placement and also can deceive your opponent into thinking you are weaker than you are.
So do it or don't just don't complain about your football ignorance and claim the game is broken.
Now at lv11, I ‘ll give my opinion about sa I ‘ve met so far in TM - scout/list players or to players I gave some of them.
GK
PS-Penalty kick stopper :( : Useless, very few are the penalties on the game. Maybe somewhat useful after extra time in knock out rounds in CH.L. or Cup but still don’t know if it really working.
OS-One-on-one stopper :) : If I have a fast trainer GK, I like to give this sa. Seems that's working a little.
Defenders
DW-Defensive wall - AD-Aerial defender :)
I give my defenders only those two sa because I believe that other sa as free-kick or corner specialist need also to give skill points to attack but I prefer not to.
My fast trainers (defenders), usually are very good performers so I believe that this maybe helps a little. Same for scouts. I buy scouts DC-DR or DC-DL with those two sa only.
Also I prefer those sa for my DMC.
MC-ML-MR
DR-Dribbling specialist :( : WOW, a dribbler ! Well, I don’t know what exactly a player with this ability is doing. In the beginning I believed that he would do this thing we read in the comments “pass one, then another …” but no.
It's very rare.
PM-Playmaker :( : Another sa which I don’t know what it’s useful for (surely the player doesn’t give assists). Maybe if he was a basket ball player.
I 've read posts saying that a pm improving the passing efficiency, gives some extra % in ball possession but for sure it's not the assists we 're waiting for him during the game.
FS-Free kick specialist - CS-Corner specialist :p
Useful sa for MCs but only if it’s working. Also noticed that maybe it’s working for one season and might not working for the next season. Also depending from the form of the player.
Also useful abilities for AMC-L-R but for them I prefer
SS-Shadow striker :) , when it's working, it's superb !
One-on-one scorer :) – I prefer this one for a ST (but also a free kick specialist is good).
If a ST doesn’t have this style of playing or he is out of form or he isn’t a good player (bad program/ doesn’t fit with the team) this can’t help him.
PS-Penalty specialist :( : Another useless sa. Maybe this thing can boost the finishing skill of player and can help him as F-S.
How much better than normal will a player perform his special ability role?
I have a player that has 40 points in shooting and 40 for crossing with a free-kick specialist status and another one that has 50 points for shooting and 50 for crossing with no special ability. Which will perform better at a free-kick during the game?
I'm a level 5 manager.
Thanks,
Free kicks and corners are always useful. My MC has scored all his goals (3) this season through free kicks. And you should use penalty specialist on defenders, since my GK nets but defenders miss..
So, how sa are working ?
Having some latest info from the new version with the live game and from PricopCatalin page with a lot of useful info about the game, some things we can say are :
- Special ability is an action our player is performing during the game.
- A sa isn't adding a bonus (%) in our players skills or actions but it works like a specific action during a game
- When it's activate during live game, we see the sign
- Some sa are visible but some not (like dribbler, pm{ ?}, 1 to 1,penalties sa).
- It doesn't matter if our player had a sa from the beginning (scout, nordgen) or we gave it with training.
- sa are working individual and only for specific actions. That means a play maker doesn't have some extra talent for C-Ks (because of his sa).
A 1-1 specialist isn't better in penalties.
A"header" isn't scoring more from corners.
- Some players without sa, some times can perform actions like having a sa. We can see some comments saying "Our defender with his aerial domination", sending the ball away.
Also some players have the talent of a sa without having the sa. F-K or C-K specialists.
We can read some posts in the forum, saying that giving this relative sa to those talented players, it's boost them more but it's not confirmed.
(We cannot understand if it's from the given sa or the "talent"/some internal programming of the player).
- The skills , quality and form of a player affects the result (not the frequency) of a performing sa.
- Also opponents player's high quality or a counter sa ( a "Header" vs a C-K, or a "Defensive wall" vs F-K specialist), decrease the chances of a sa result.
- Besides this, performance of special abilities in a game are rare and this is a reason that sa are questionable from many players.
- That's also a reason not to spend so many boosters (if we don't have enough), to give our player a sa even if in the market, players with special abilities attract many buyers.
I don't agree with playmaker.
My wife bought at 2.week a playmaker from recommended player list, and he got ~2nd goal the PM-icon, was 23 time MoM. You also can set him as CK and/or FK and you will see the icon every time, it leads to the goal.
But I also saw many playmakers, which didn't work or didn't perform like the PM of my wife.
I have a pm on my own, but I don't, if he is a playmaker for real. His performance is around 7, was last season only one time MoM. But he earned the most cards of all... (7) -.-
play maker and dribbler sa , is questionable if are visible.
Some members said that they saw the icon once.
Need some more investigation.
You mean that you set a pm as FK specialist and you saw the FK icon when he scored from a FK ? :confused:Quote:

If one player has a sa and he is good to that, it doesn't mean he isn't talented in another sa.
I have a ST with 1-1 but I use him in the right side F-K and in penalties too.
And he is talented to those too.
No, CK or FK leads to a goal, the PM-icon is popping up. I'll try to take screenshot, if it happens.
(Her PM is best at crossing and Shooting, so she tried to put him FK/CK - last season it was a big success, this season... don't know, maybe harder opponents)
Ok, as I also read in another post about the appearance of the pm icon, I would like from anyone saw it, to describe what action was performed at that time.
An assist for a goal ? A pass (without leading to a goal) ?
In a F-K or C-K that leads to a goal ?
This must be a new one
or extremely rare.
No, only if it's an assist. Direct FK (goal) shows nothing.
Today, it was shown after a counter. A defender played the ball to PM, PM->AML->ST->AML->ST-> Goal. I didn't thought, that their's a pop up for PM. I was surprised and missed the Screenshot. Tomorrow are another two games, and the PM performs better and better. So I hope, i will post it tommorow. :)
so, it wasn't a direct assist but for the deploy of the team ?Quote:

Your pm didn't got the assist (his name in the parenthesis beside the scorer) ?
At what moment the icon pop-up ?
haha, I don't think we have the time to take a screenshot (unless it's a F-K or a C-K and we expect this).Quote:
