About the Transfermarket i will give you an advice:

Even when you mouseover a players quality (the stars) it will show you his Level. Be aware about the level ups for the players:

3 Stars is from Level 15 to 19
4 Stars is from Level 20 to 24
5 Stars is from Level 25 to 29
6 Stars is from Level 30 to 34 and so on...

So if you're searching for a good deal, look for the lower stars/high level player according to your wallet ($ and Tokens)

For now you should've kicked the crap out (You can use the 'add to favorites' to keep the overview) On the Players skill tab at the details page, there are 3 stats listed:

Defence
Attack
Physical and Mental

Now its mathematics:

(Defence+Attack+ PhysMent)/3 = Quality

for example:

Player A
(30.0 Defence + 29.0 Attack + 29.0 PhysMent)/3 = 29.3 (5*)

but:

Player B
(30.6 Defence + 29.4 Attack + 29.8 PhysMent)/3 = 29.9 (5*)

The difference of both is as easy:

Every SkillPoint you earn from training or matches counts 0.2, doesn't matter in which you'll put it in. So the SkillPoint Value counts a third of 0.2 to total Quality (0.06666).

Now we check out the same two players with an additional SkillPoint in Attack:

Player A
(30.0 Defence + 29.2 Attack + 29.0 PhysMent)/3 = 29.4 (5*)

but:

Player B
(30.6 Defence + 29.6 Attack + 29.8 PhysMent)/3 = 30,0 (6*)

So if you keep this in mind, and also that a 6* Player is on higher value as an 5*, you can save money and probably tokens building up a not so bad squad.

Also it's possible to calculate how much SkillPoints you need to level up for every Player. Therefor you should create an Excelsheet, but the benefit is you make an overview of the real value of your players you have or plan to buy.

I don't think you will save money and tokens bidding on those players 1 skill point away from an additional star, I find there will be many bidders on players close to the next star, that is, any players with quality ending in 4 or 9, even on my server where I can get 20 decent 5* players for less than 35 tokens on the first few days. I tend to avoid these players because I operate on a tight budget, unless they're a huge bargain then I'll risk a token on them very early and see who else makes a bid.

when looking at the players, click up their stats and check them. ive found 3 star players with 5 or 6 star for the expertise i need (def for defenders or att for strikers), but their other stat is much lower, so bringing their overall rating down greatly.
quite often these are much better than more even players of the same lvl (my leagues top assist player last year was my lvl 4 amr, when most my team were lvl 5, because his attack skills were through the roof, he just couldnt defend!) also, these players are quite often much cheaper per season than those of better skills, so make them great buys if you are working on a tight budget

I agree, these sort of players are great, here are my strikers and one AMC for this season. Still need to make room for the AMC, though, and I can't find many players tilted towards defence.



Other players might think the same as us, though, especially big token buyers, I hate that.
