well this thread isn't for real pro managers but the starters that wan't to grow correctly, u are probably right that it doesn't work at hight lvl season but it will help low lvl managers and maybe high levels too.

It's still working for me at level 15.

I can't really afford to use trick 2, I'll be in for 3 rounds maximum. I always bid in the morning and get my bids in very early before deadline. As you say, I often get good players for 1 token, and if anyone else bids, many will assume I've left and I can get the player for 2 tokens by stealing at the last second. However, there are also many managers that will bid every round to ensure you can't steal the player with the last second trick.

My top advice for my fellow managers working on limited budgets is to avoid getting involved in bidding wars. Don't go for expensive players at the top of their star level, quality ending in 4 or 9, because many managers will go for these, go for those ending in 2, 3, 7 and 8, and maybe the lower ones if they are quite expensive, which means they will develop faster. Other hot players include those with useful special abilities, and those that are very flexible. If you've bid on a player and there are at least two other bidders, it will be better for your tokens if you pull out right away.

Seriously, sneaky bidding tricks like that might work against new or casual players but you can't fool token buyers or experienced players.

Well u are maybe right but doesn't mean that a token buyer will "waste" his tokens even if he have alot ! that is my personnel opinion excpect if he is "dumb". Because u never have extra tokens, they are usefull for so many things.

I like this topic but I must ask about your #1 trick, when is morning? players live around the world! what is morning for you is mid-day elsewhere. but i tend to agree, if you have tokens to spare you can take a shot in the dark at bidding on a player during a "dead" period and hoping that he falls to you. sometimes it works and sometimes not.

Well i had the same question in my head when i started that game ! "when is the morning" because all the world doesn't have the same time. Now in my country is 5.22PM , Brussel Time. But i just noticed from 6AM-9AM there are much less bidders than in the evening (5PM-2AM) well for me it is almost impossible to buy a GOOD player without spending more than 20tokens.
So u if u have a different time, u can try to find the difference with the hour that id gived u, or just try to search the moment that there are much less bidders by always watching the biddings. That's my advice to u.
But don't forget in the morning u have less players too, so if u search a specified player (position, point, special abilitie,...) u should maybe be patient, cuz the seller knew that if he want to earn more money then he should put in selling his Player in the evening, but due to the time, some people doesn't calculate the right moment to sell his player and u have to use this occasion.
