How to predict your Cup level on next season

Soo basiclly in my short exp as football manager i've noticed that the cup draws are pretty similar each season and i think i figured out how the engine works..

You should calculate the average quality of your 14 best players
If the number you get is equal to 5Stars average team then you'll most likely be getting a cup draw with
Your level players with same quality 5stars
One level higer players with average quality 4stars(appearing as 5stars to you)
Two level higer players with average quality of 3stars(appearing 5 stars to you)

If you'r 14players average quality is equal to 4Stars you'll be getting

One level lower teams with 5stars average quality
Same level players with same 4stars quality as yours.
One level higer teams with 3stars quality.

and so on.. If u'r average is 9Stars you'll be probabbly getting 4Stars(appearing 9 to you) teams that are 5 levels higer
example, if you'r lvl 1 with 9Stars Quality you'll face lvl 6 guys with 4Stars Q.
And 6 levels higer teams with 3Stars.

This is how the cup draw works for the first few level, i can only confirm thoes as im not as high level as other managers.

Please corect me if im wrong.

Max Cup level = Your level + (Your Top 14 player Star Rating -1) is a good rule of thumb.

The most likely is the above -1.

(Exceptions can occur because how far things gets skewed is based on the number of appropriate quality teams and the maximum levels available on your server.)

I guess you could also find lower level teams with 5-6stars avg( appearing to you) even if your team is 5stars rated
Just didnt happen as i don't have many low levels with mad teams in my server :D

But im pretty sure that the higest levels teams in a cup are 3stars rated, thats why they'r appearing as 5 stars and 2 levels higer to people with 5Stars average..
So basiclly Buffs FC would be in Lv 8 cup next season :D with 3 levels higer teams as your 14best avg is 6stars.. :D your higest level opponents should be lv 8 guys with 3stars team.

Yep, what I gave is a rule of thumb, variations are based on how far the system has to go down the star rating to get the required numbers. My 2* level 4 side (for 14 players) actually ended up in a level 5 Cup.

So I'm lvl 5 now, with avg 6.1 stars for top 14, what level Cup will I play next season?

Im think you should be placed on Level 8 cup, gonna be tough

Yep, I'd predict 8 too.....7 is very very unlikely imo and 9 is unlikely but if it was 9 there'd only be 1 or 2 teams that level.

(As level 4, I was in a level 7 Cup this year but there was only 1 level 7 iirc and I suspect it was inactive/unmanaged.)

EDIT: For most teams I think your greatest threat will be within 2 levels above (but there are exceptions.)

MINE..LEVEL 9..67.8...so I should sell of some 6 star player and replace with 3 star to get the chance as champion in cup..3 times runner up oledi..tired of them..hic

Thank you for your help everyone, I couldn't tell what level this morning's cup match was, every now and then it would show, not sure where? Once I saw my opponent I knew it was not Level 6 CUP! that is for sure, I started counting the 128 teams and what level they were, and then I noticed that I must be stir crazy doing this, and it made no difference as to whom I had to face, so I stopped at 23 teams, and focused on how best to play my opponent. May be, just maybe I'm in a Lvl 7 Cup, then I have a chance to make the final 4! but my gut feeling is it's a level 8 cup, or worst.

Here's an under sampling of the levels of 23 out of 128 teams in my CUP.

Oh so u've got Lv 9 teams aswell? >_< pretty sure they would be the 1st ones to go out since they'r are abandoned,
You'll probabbly have more troublems with people on Level 7 and 8 that got similar Q as yours ;D

Anyhow yea, i think its right since you are suposed to face 3 levels higer managers if you finish the season with 6stars average :D it would be 2 levels higer if you had 5Stars average :D

It is always happened to token buyers.. nothing special, bro .. At your level.. level 6..I got into CUP final and narrow lost to level 9 team 2-1 when I were the one conquered the match...

Your Max Level = 6+4=10
Likely = 10-1=9 ;) = however I thought you might avoid the 9s since you are low end of 5*.

Think I have Level 8 this time. Not seen a 9 yet but I'll wait until I'm out or the number of teams is less.

Well won the 1st leg Cup against more then likely a "Place holder" lvl 9 player. He wasn't there but usually once they see they lost to a team 3 levels down, they will watch and manager real time come the 2nd leg, must remember to BUMP HIM TWICE and make him wake up at 4:15 am his time zone! LOL.
I truly believe, real time managers win 30-40% more games the just plop and hope managers, come in once or twice a day and train. Couldn't help myself, went and looked at most of the 128 teams in my CUP, it looks like an even split 33% lvl 7, 33% lvl 8 and 33% lvl 9, as I the only lvl 6 the ONE PERCENT!

How can I tell for certain what level cup I am in?

The Cup level = highest level team.

In that case I am doing well.... I'm just glad I don't have to face level 10s.

Thank you, that information hit the spot, now I know for sure I am in the Level 10 CUP!

I'm in a pettern of playing LVL+1 one season, and LVL+2 the next. Rinse and repeat. This season I'm LVL10 in a LVL11 Cup. My friend is LVL9 and is in the same Cup tournament while I also saw a LVL14 team.

Thankfully, as expected, I'm only in a lvl 8 Cup. :D Just hand me the trophy now. >.<

LVL10-11 teams make up over 90% of the field. I've seen 2-3 12's and a random 14. This sounds like LVL11 Cup.
