I'm not arguing whether or not to press high, or to tackle easy, or to play man-marking, or to force counterattacks. I'm sure all of these options are useful in some way.
What puzzles me is that you play defensively and press high up the pitch and force counterattacks. I mean if you press high up the pitch you don't really play defensively, and also will never get into a position to play a proper counterattack which typically starts in your own half.
I know there is a lot of confusion about formations and tactics going on here, but some of those things just don't go together. I've tried a few silly combinations (pressing high with easy tackling, man-marking with easy tackling to name but a few) and got punished every time.
Needless to say, I hardly ever play 4-V-1.
I just looked at your post and thought: 'That makes no sense' and I still think that at least for the first part (you clarified the 'easy tackling' thing).
