I cant get good results for few months. Playing with 4-5-1v but tried 4-1-4-1(but with this formation even worse). Usually play with normal/flanks/mixed/off/high(or low sometimes). But well now at 11th place, last season only 8th. Really dont know what to do. Maybe some tips and tricks how to control team :)? Formations like 4-4-2 or 4-2-2-2 just eat me alive. Attachment 117717
Try the same, but with short passing and counters on.
Sometimes is good to switch to Mixed instead of Both flanks :)

Been working for me for 20 plus seasons.
But why short? i thought it should be short in middle but direct in the last third. And not understand attacking+high+counter. How you attack with high press but at the same moment invite your opponent to your defense? What about 4-1-4-1?
Is here any connection between mentality and pressing (attack with high/normal- defensive with low or it doesnt matter)? + I keep getting bad rating for my centre defenders usually about 6-7(tried to buy another but with no luck). How to improve them?

I play 4-2-AML/CR-ST , attack, high pressing, mtm
Also if you 're playing 4-5-1V, AML & AMR must be the special ones.
At that day, in the middle of the season, they must have 110% , not less than the DR or the GK.

Hm, Im not sure, but lets see what the experienced players will suggest.
In my opinion 4-1-4-1 should be def with short + counters on posession, but that's just me :)

If both teams play short, don't expect to have high percentage, it's logical :)
Also, depends on your formation and mentality.
Your opponent's tactic and mentality too.
Last, but not least - support ( yep it DOES matter in most of the cases ).
At least it's what I'm observing with my teams and opponents :)
if 70+ you play with long passes i guess. However when i started to play with short passes recently my completed passes were 80-83%. I think too low. God, i think i would not get tokens from asso this month :)

You say that wingers must be at least 110% but for example in my league first is only 2% better than me and his players arent so great compared to mine. The best is with 108% but his is only 4th. Anyway im keep loosing and the results are even poorer than before :). I even got better results with mixed passing and completed passes were better than with short passes. When i talked with one great manager he said that 4-5-1v is bad with short passes and should be played with mixed or long. But you say differently. I dont know.

I know that if wingers play with 7 rating they perform poorly(and it happens now for at least 6 matches) but i dont know how to make them play better. When i inspect my league opponent players they arent very great compared to my players (i could say that my players white skills are even better than theirs). But anyway i loose to them. But just this is because i dont know how to play this game or how to deploy counter tactics :).
Almost all the time I play 4-5-1V with short passing, so far my team is doing very good.
Once I've asked Niko for a speciffic draw ( team with 30% above me ) with a flat 4-4-2. Niko adviced me to try mixed, and if AM say smth bad - change to short.
That's what I did. No matter I lost 2:1, the short passing really did great job.
Test for yourself I'd say, and see where is the weak spot in your setup :)

i do not agree with the combination (for wingers) def-counters-short
I prefer def-counters-mix.
I prefer short + normal/attack
and long when oppo doesn't have DMC.
But I start a game and then see how it's going on.
Short gives more complete pass, that gives more shots but efficiency is unknown factor.

And when do you use def+mix and short+normal/attack - when your opponent is stronger or weaker, or against certain formations?

Next time i meet 3-2(dl/dr but high up the pitch)-3(mc)-2 and 3-2(mc)-3(aml/amc/amr)-1. Versus first im going to use normal+short+high because i predict he will play def+counters and versus second- def+long+counters because i think he is going to play attacking and dont have fullbacks. Is it wise to play in this way? And is it even wise to decide about your orders according to opponent formation and prediction about his orders?
There are only two orders where you can expect some difference in performance.
High pressing and man to man.
Because in those two you sacrifice -10% of condition (each order).
The others have a tiny effect.
You could play 10 times (or 100, or 1000 :p) vs the same team, using the same orders
- except 10 times use long pass and 10 times short pass.
In 80% of the games, you won't see any difference.
Ended at 10th position. Thanks for answers but i think, after all, drop this formation and try something else.
