Well, no. If he's playing against a 9 star team, then his possession will be ridiculously low (perhaps only some 20/25%), and thus an illegal formation doesn't change much here.

Furthermore, he might still win if he gets lucky, and score with a counter-attack, and block all his opponent's attacks, because he will very likely be playing Hard Defense. It should be very hard to pierce through this one here.

If he actually thought of all of this, then he's brilliant, not a noob...
