An very inferior team using 4-1-3-2 ended my 20 match unbeaten run

I'm a level 2 manager with essentially a level 3-4 team.

My rating is 27.9 with 4 scout players, team value 20.1 million, all my players have special abilities, the entire teams morale and condition was 99 during both games.
I am first in the league and champions league, my last 10 results combined were 45 goals scored and 0 allowed (I can post screen shots to prove it).
I have used a 3 DC, 2 wide DM, 3 MC and 2 ST, attacking, mixed, whole pitch, short, counter and offside in every match.

I have beaten teams 10-0, 14-0 and 12-0 recently.

A team with a rating of 19.8 and a value of 8.44m, only one player with a special ability and not one scout level player, using a 4-1-3-2 narrow, with no manager present, beat me over two legs in the cup.

WTF? Apparently the best formation ever.

Only when I switched to hard attacking and hard tackling did I even score against him. I dominated in possession and shots, but he must've had 20 blocks and he scored all of his goals from long range.

Kinda dumb. I have played far better teams who had managers and supporters present and I thumped them easily. Those games I would not have been surprised if I had lost or drawn, but this one it makes no sense.

Kinda makes the game seem like a lottery.

I just had a back-to-back match against two 4-1-3-2 with two outcomes.

Won 4-2 away against a team just slightly weaker then the next day lost 2-3 at home against a team whose squad rating was -13 below mine.

Used same formation/orders for both matches. Go figure...hahaha
