I got a good feeling that a good counter formation for the 4-3W-2N-1 Christmas Tree formation could well be the 3W-2DMC-3N-1-1 Effiel Tower formation, Not confirmed or anything but the base of the effiel tower could stop the Xmas tree from attacking.

What tactics would you use being stronger than him? Also, would 3-2DMC-2MC-2W-1 be as effective?

A really good counter to the 4-4-1-1 is 4-2-2-1-1 (4D-2DMC-2MC-1AMC-1ST). I beat a team that was 4 ranks better than me with this formation.
