PS : to know if your formations works, see the possession bar...if its always lower 50 then its not suitable against them (i bet you know this though)lol
But I'm playing against someone like 26.7 and I have 39.0, although he's an active player and watches his matches... So possession is key here, I am going for the 3-1-4-1-1

hey how do you counter 3-4-1-2?
GK
DC-DC-DC
MR-MC-MC-ML
AMC
ST-ST
i think 4-5-1 V have some chance as he didn't have any player to cover the flank.
I only have it around 32 skill and he has around 40.
I might have to play some defensive-counter mode.
What do you think?

It means narrow. W means wide. 4-1-3-2 can be played in 2 different ways, the wide midfield (ML-MC-MR) or the narrow midfield (MC-MC-MC)

I won 5-2 against the 4-2-2-2.. However the breakdown from the individual formations...

With the 4-5-1 V motivated, I won 4-0, changed to 3-1-4-1-1 in the 2nd half and lose 2-1 with that formation. So I think it's better for 4-5-1 V...

3-1-4-1-1 was dodgy, they had so many chances and possession bar was leaning towards opponent's favour.

I believe the 4-2-2-2 Hexagon is simply beaten by 4-4-2 classic.

To save lots of diagrams I have used Common Terminology to help describe the formations shown.
4-4-2 Classic
4-1-2-1-2 Narrow Diamond, 4-5-1 V-Style, 3-2-2-2-1 Butterfly
Pardon me. Can you explain the detail about each counter formation?

4-1-2-1-2: I only understand the first 4 is DL-DC-DC-DR, and the last 2 is ST-ST.
4-5-1 V-Style??
3-2-2-2-1 Butterfly??

Most of my friends play 442 classic and I want to beat them

July, I see you haven't got a counter for 4-3N-3 on the index page.

I use 4-1-4-1 to beat it with plenty of success. I motivate DR/DL, ML/MR & DCM. The 4-3-3 thread made me think about it & look up my notes.
