don't play ever with 4 3 2 1

use 4 4 2 or if you wanted to use the AMC you have .. then use 4 4 1 1 with normal mentality ... short passing ... down both flanks /Mixed as you want ... own half ... counter attack ... offside trap.

Some people however may change the MC-MC to a DMC-DMC, don't worry too much about this as it will not effect the formations provided and would enhance your ball possession.

Effective formation to counter the 4-2-2-2 would be the 3-2-2-2-1:
Tested in great match and it work well.

DML------------DMR
-----DC-DC-DC-----

Flat Formation, but possible add down arrows on DML and DMR to boost defence if required.
Short or mixed passing, down both flanks, with fast defenders use offside trap, pressing whole pitch in attacking mentality OR
normal or defensive mentality, pressing own half with force counter and mixed passing.

4-5-1V Motivated

The 4-5-1V Style Motivated is also another option to use against the 4-2-2-2 formation.

Thanks again Adel. Unfortunately, he has just changed his formation to a similar 4-5-1 V style except he has 2 AMCs.
He now has:
DL DC DC DR
DMC
ML MR
AMC AMC
ST

Do you have any advice for this remembering that he has a superior team to me?

4 4 2 classic best used by short passing to control the mid .

but if you are online and saw that this not working you can switch to long passing ... but if you were offline then use short passing .

I Think this formation do use the hole pitch with the wings. And you could replace the MC with an AMC.
Do you think its a good formation?

I have 2 upcoming matches against 2 formations I have never played against before.

No 1:

No 2:
DL---DC---DR

Both teams quality are about the same as mine, but I am playing away.

It's good and you can replace the MC with an AMC ... try the 2 formation and see which will be better with your players .. but the 2 are good :)

I only meant don't use it against 3-2-3-2 ever not don't play with it at any time :)

Put it this way everyttime I played against a 4-3-2-1 I used 3-2-3-2 and never lost scores have been from 3-0 up over .

you formation is great and will work good against many formation except 3 2 3 2 or any formation that depending on DML/R

so the orders is :normal mentality ... whole pitch ... mixed passing ... counter attack ... offside trap.

Maybe the game engine was just in a bad mood.
The away goal could yet be the clincher, bump your win bonus to Max for the return leg.

1st of all i think this is illegal formation but any way try 4 4 2 classic with these orders:
