I would try a 3-2-2-2-1 Butterfly (3DC-DML-DMR-CM-CM-AML-AMR-ST) with zonal marking and attack over the wing,
but haven't faced that formation yet.

Hello, what formation could beat this:
    ST
    AMC-AMC
    ML-MC-MR
    DMC
    DC-DC-DC

I have only one DMC, also have DML.

Dv8r, could you please look at my post above re playing against superior 4222 hexagon. I need to protect 2 goal lead and he is much stronger. Thanks.

I used 3-1-4-1-1 and it seemed to work. Dont ever use the butterfly as it is ineffective against 4-2-2-2 hexagon

    hi @ all

i am new in this game and forum and i wish you could help me. i've read many topics in this forum but i didn't find an effective formation against a 4-1-3(W)-1-1

    ----------ST----------
    ---------AMC---------
    --ML----MC----MR---
    ---------DMC---------
    --DL--DC---DC--DR--

someone asked this question a few months before and one advice of an member was to play with a 4-5-1 V Style with normal mentality, both flanks, mixed passing, zonal, own half press, no counter/offside trap
or with a 3(W)-1-3(N)-2-1 with attacking both flanks, short passing, zonal marking, own half pressing, no counter, no offside trap

    ----------ST--------
    AML-------------AMR
    ----MC-MC-MC----
    ---------DMC-------
    DL------DC------DR

so i used the V style (it's also my favourite) but in the first half he shot 2 goals. i changed the tactic to the 2nd formation and i got another 2 goals in the 2nd half. the quality of his players were exactly the same that i have.

the second and important question i have is how i can beat a 3-1-3(W)-1-2 ??
the opponents quality is much better than mine (my average quality is 18.0, the opponents is 20.4). i have an important game tomorrow and i did not find something useful against this formation (in the table of counter there isn't any counter formation explained). i have to add that he has an very very fast ST and AMC so my defenders will not be able to play with offside trap!

    ------ST---ST------
    ------- AMC--------
    -ML-----MC-----MR-
    --------DMC--------
    ----DC--DC--DC----
    ---------GK---------

    Could you please help me?
    thanks a lot!
