My next opponent plays with a very offensive formation:
    dr---dc---dl
    ----dmc
    --mc-mc
    ---amc
    st-st-st (5 stars STs)

To counter it, i was thinking about a:
    dr-dc-dc-dl
    ----dmc
    ---mc-mc
    amr------aml
    ----st

normal, own half, no off, no counter.

What do you think about that? What type of passing should i use?

    The formation should be OK.
Hit him down Both flanks, you may be better going Defending/Hard defending if his strikers are much better than your DC's with Force Counter and red arrows on your AML/AMR. passing long, try to take advantage of his own DL/DR being out of position when he attacks, if his DL/DR are holding their positions, switch to mixed/short.

Difference between his STs and my defenders is about 20%. I didn't want to go defensive coz my midfielders are much better than his so i wanted to hold ball possession. Am i wrong?

No not at all, the problem being we don't know his tactics, if I see a stronger MF I will by pass it with with long balls from the back to my forwards where my strength is greatest.
In these sort of cases I prefer to start in a more reserved mentality, knowing I can hit him harder if I have to, you may prefer the reverse.
    It's down to the individual.

    Understood, ty for the support.

EDIT: I've done as i said, started with normal then scored and went defensive-counterattacking as u said. Scored 3-times again and won 4-1.

Nice one, you now have the dilemma of; was it the change that secured the win, or would I have won by the same if I'd stuck with Normal.
It's all trial and error with a **** load of random events thrown in.
This game gives so little away when we make changes, very little effects possession during the game, tackles and fouls are a joke, shots, shots on target and saves the same.

Hi, tomorrow I'm playing a really important cup match against a stronger team (37,3 vs 41,8), we drew 1-1 in the first leg, but now I need to win over there.

    He's playing with this:
    ------gk------
    dl----dc----dr
    -----dmc----
    --mc---mc--
    aml------amr
    ----fw--fw----

In the first leg I tried this formation:

    ------gk-----
    dl--dc--dc--dr
    --dmc--dmc--
    ------mc------
    aml--------amr
    ------fw--------

Hard defending, force counter, pressing own half, long passing, zonal, attack on wings, red arrows on my DMCs and a blue arrow on my MC.

But now I need to win so I'm thinking about trying this:

    ------gk-----
    dl----dc----dr
    dml-------dmr
    ----mc-mc----
    aml-------amr
    ------fw-------

Defending, force counter, pressing whole pitch, long passing, zonal, attack on left wing (his DR is really bad) red arrows on my DMs, AMs and blue arrows on my MCs.

What do you think, is this a good approach or should I try something else?

I have an important match for tomorrow. My opponent plays a fairly aggressive formation :

    DL-DC-DC-DR
    --MC-MC-MC
    ---AMC-AMC
    -----ST

What should be played against this comp?
