    I am facing a 4-3-1-2 wide 3 (4-3w-1-2):

    DL-DC--DC-DR
    ML---MC---MR
    -----AMC
    ---ST--ST

and he can convert it to 4-1-3w-2 (i've seen him doing it in some matches, but his DMC is just 4 stars):

    DL-DC--DC-DR
    -----DMC
    ML---MC---MR
    ---ST-ST

I've read that for the second one a 3-2w-2-2w-1 works well, but most probably he is going to start with the attacking formation (4-3w-1-2) and most probably change to the defensive one as soon as he gets the lead... i really don't know how to counter him.

I am usually playing 4-5-1 V formation, so if i change to 3-2w-2-2w-1 i have my DR and DL playing off position as DML DMR, which i don't really like. I was thinking that 4-5-1 V can be a decent counter, but not sure about it and no idea on how to put arrows or orders...

We both have an average score of 39-40 on field (almost 6 stars) and its the champions final!!

    Thank you for the help!

    What about 3-2-3-2

    ST ST
    MC MC(DOWN) MC
    DML (UP) DMR (UP)
    DC DC DC

Defensive - counter - mixed focus - mixed passing

He has an AMC in defence insted of DC , is that normal?

    My formation is

    3-5-2

    DC--DC--DC

    ML--MC--MC--MC--MR

    ST--ST

    or

    3-4-3

    DC--DC--DC

    ML--MC--MC--MR

    ST--ST--ST

    It's a home match

    How to win this 3-4-2-1:

    DC-DC-DC
    ML-MC-MC-MC
    AMC-AMC
    ST

I need to win. Team is strong like mine.
How about tactics (passing, counter/offside, zonal/man to man...) ?

I would try to attack over the uncovered wing. Based on the formation I would suspect he attacks over the center.
With one striker 3 defenders and a defensive mid you should get stability there. 3 midfielders to cover his four: ML-MC-MR and 2 strikers.
That makes it a 3N-DMC-3W-2. As tactics: zonal defense, no offside trap, attack through left wing (since he has neither right back nor right midfielder). If he is as strong as you I would suggest normal mentality, mixed passing with pressure own half. Good luck.

No right sided player? Illegal formation if he doesn't have players on either flank
