how to read formation?

if you tell me for example 3-1-2-2-2
how do i read that?
3 defenders 1 mid defender 2 mid 2 mid attackers 2 st? correct
ok but then where to put each one of them? i have 4 places in a for mid attackers and all that so where?
i did it like that is it good?

also what are all the eifel tower and butterfly 3N-2(dmr/dml)-2(mc)-2(amr/amll)-1 and xmas tree 4-3W-2(AMC)-1 and W wide and V(looks like a V (for example the picture above: 3w-5-2V) and N narrow ?
and how can i beat this formation
