yes and unfortunately this doesn't transferred in gaining too. It's just gives some advantage not sure where and how exactly, probably some % in the calculations of the program - don't expect to see...

As we can see the first pic of Ahlony, if this team had also a 1* player, it wouldn't make much difference but you can't go far with a team of 3-4-5* players (but good performers)
