I wouldn't lock a thread like this, Nothing wrong with the community having a voice over a long term forum members opinion of whether they are worthy or being a moderator or not.

The purpose of my remark was to illustrate that, in some situations, your role of moderator would require you to play the police instead of raising your voice. So, in the end, it all depends on how you want to be positioned on this forum. And I'll repeat myself: I prefer you in your current role.
