I'm new playing Level 2 and my first two youth players were a Quality-11 (2*) MC that was for no tokens and a Q-18 (3*) DR for 12 tokens.
If you can't (or don't want to) sign them, you should be able to sell them or get a percentage of their value as they came out of your system.
And why lose a star every season ?

I mentioned this another topic "tips & tricks" but it also worth putting here.
Before upgrading your youth system, take the time to work out the schedule for construction, then factor in the allotted time to produce the first set of players, this is on a sliding scale depending on the level of the facility, your first level delivers after 28 days, 'Mimi camp' is 20 if I remember correctly and so on down to L10 12 days at the very top.
The season last 28 days with one day break.
Planning your build at the wrong time means your players will arrive at the end of the season, so if you do decide to keep them, again you lose out.
Using the 4* as an example. with a Mkt value of 4m the token cost is lost as you will never recoup that amount.
A. You have little time to develop them in the time left, every day playing one game and one training session he should increase in value by around .005% there is a jump in value when a player hits a new skill level, IE, 25-26 of circa .010% and a further increase when a star is achieved of circa .020%.
B. To maximise your sale you need to sell before maintenance on the last day.
C. After maintenance your player is one year older and his Mkt value will drop by circa 20% as this is what he will gain roughly in one season, this is how they keep the balance as players age and move through the leagues.
D. Keeping him, same as buying a few days before the end of the season, he is one year older within days, you lose 1 year off his contract, and if he does not turn out to be what you wanted (progress is slow) you sell, OK you make a profit as you paid nothing, but as we know money in the bank is a useless commodity without tokens, unless you want to upgrade facilities.
E. Releasing a player before maintenance plays into the hands of Nordeus, they get to put him on the Mkt at full value and as a 18yo which creates more bidders.
keep him for the seven days then release him.
I hope that helps explain how the system works. IMO of course.![]()

Youth acadamy players should be free to sign, and if you dont want them in your squad you should be able to sell them and keep the profits, Gretts.
agreeeee the players of youth team freee not paying tokens !!
I don't think Nordeus will give a Sh!t about it as it will reduce their income....
