They're picking on him. Picking on him I say.

My good performing MC has picked up 3 yellows in his last 5 league matches to make 4 league yellows from 9 matches and stupid ratings statistician gives him a 6 for each of the last 2.

So he's picked up 6 of the current squad's total of 9 yellows in all competitions. He's not a thug its a Nordeus vendetta. We won't sell him - he does too many good things. >.< I like him!

.....*whimpers*......"Please don't make me sell him"

    *takes the tablets*

PS. Since he was suspended for the league match (again) we'll bench him and maybe give him a little game time in CL to see if he's calmed down....erm.....I mean to see if the victimisation stops!

With the new Strike partnership only 6 days in, Left Winger, John Robertson is clinging on to the Club's top scorer title for the season so far.

Robertson is a 'one-season wonder' capture bought for impact. SP gain doesn't matter he just needs to do a job this season then find a new club.

    Defence

The defence is still operating well.

Last Season's Nordgen DL/DC Andy Robertson isn't as keen on playing DL as last Season but continues to progress so fast that he might start next Season only a couple of Q away from 7*.
22 yo DL/DC Steve Nicol, with over 200 games under his belt, isn't the star performer he was but still doesn't know what a 6 rating looks like He's not yet regained his 7* again this Season yet but could cling on to a starting spot next Season when the squad is expected to swell again to get a new defence ready.
22 yo DC/DMC Alan Hansen is in a similar position to Nicol. Although he shared the DMC spot with the former Buffs' DMC Billy McNeill, he's fast closing in on 200 games and just might hold on to a starting spot next season.
On the right DC/DR Richard Gough is another 'one-season wonder' who has proved reliable. He might even get a start next season since Buffs Mad seems to have lost his appetitite this season for an early trawl of the TM for youths.

    Midfield

Dave Mackay, MC, one season wonder with Playmaker SA, has been a very good performer on the left. However, he has proven to be a bit 'over-committed' in the tackle and has gathered 6 yellows this Season already - which account for his occasional 6 ratings. Buffs Mad is currently in discussions regarding a suitable medication to curb this.
Scott Brown and Fernando Ricksen have shared the right midfield slot, with the other taking up central role when required, but have recently been overshadowed by new Academy Recruit McCabe (yet to be renamed).
McCabe, MC, 18 yo is the newly gained 5* upstart. So far he's excelled in both the left and right roles as sub and starter. He looks promising and if it keeps up he might just earn a more intensive Quality boost. However, he does look like the kind of Academy enigma that the Buffs had 3 Seasons ago in AMR/MR Shaun Maloney. Although training well, as would be expected from such a costly youth, his Market Value is suspiciously low and Buffs Mad is fearful that McCabe might slump in training in Season 2 just like Maloney did.

    Wingers

Apart from John Robertson, one season wonder, who has excelled so far, the right winger, Willie Henderson is clinging on to a starting spot by his fingertips. No bad performances but he's not exactly set the heather alight either.

    Strikers

After an early season goal-scoring crisis, and against his better judgement, Buffs Mad opted to secure 2 Strikers from the Scout Market. Its a bit early to assess them but it appears that they take turns with the marksman role - Dalglish scored 6 in the first few games, then stopped, and Archibald then started, and as scored 5 in the last few. Overall the assessment would be 'blowing hot n cold'.

    Subs

The subs are unremarkable. The Buffs are operating light with a DC/DR, 2 MCs and a Striker.

    Three Stooges

Larry, Curly and Moe have now managed to avoid seeing any game time in they're 3 Seasons at the Club.

    End Season Review

    Defence

GK - Andy Goram, in his second season, continued to be a reliable safe pair of hands and appeared to be expert in dealing with shots from distance.
    42 Games, 1 MoM
DL/DC - Andy Robertson, a second season NordGem, had latterly played as DL to allow Nicol to play centrally and has never rated under 7.
    42 games, 4 goals, 4 MoM.
DL/DC - Steve Nicol, at 22 years old, has now completed his 5th season, playing 230 games. He has been the heart of the defence this Season.
    42 games, 4 goals, 2 MoM.
DC/DMC - Alan Hansen, a 22 yo Academy product, has previously been a rock as a DC was was required to move to DMC. He's fluctuated from being a stand out to nearly being kicked out. His star has waned and is now considered a back-up player.
    30 games, 5 goals, 1 Mom
DC/DR - Richard Gough, an ex-Scout capture, took over from faltering DR Alan Hutton (now sold). He's been a steady enough performer with mostly straight 7s in the ratings.
    33 games, 2 goals, 1 MoM.
DC/DMC - Murray Wilson was an academy recruit this season principally as DMC where he has rated 7 in every match. He's not yet been tested at DC so it remains unclear where his future lies, but he does have a future.
13 games, 1 Assist - not been booked yet.

    Midfield
MC - Dave Mackay is a One-Season-Wonder TM capture. With Playmaker SA he has performed to type with a high rate of yellow cards but a solid return of goals too. He proved to be a vital player on the left of the Buffs' usual 2 man engine room.
35 games - 15 goals, 1 assist, 1 MoM & 7 yellow cards (6 in the first half of the season).
MC - Scott Brown initially had a fight for the right MC spot with Fernando Ricksen but eventually his performances made it his own. A remarkable turnaround for someone who joined as an 18 yo as a bit-part player but has now played 107 games over 3 seasons.
    36 games, 5 goals, 5 assists.
AML/AMC/AMR - 32 yo John Robertson was a carefully considered panic to get the Striker out of the left wing role. This old either footed CK specialist was a risk but his goal scoring stats gave hope. He's been one of the star performers this Season at both the winger and wide midfield slot and its unclear yet whether he'll finish his career at the Buffs or go be another One Season Wonder elsewhere. Shame he can't take a CK but lets not be greedy.
    33 games, 23 goals, 8 assists, 7 MoM.
AMC/AMR - right winger Willie Henderson was a purchase from the Scout Market and has now completed his 3rd season at the Club all with that shiny 6th or 7th star recognition. He and John Robertson are Buffs' sole representatives on the league's goal scoring charts.
    42 games, 25 goals, 12 assists, 10 MoM

    Strikers
ST - Kenny Dalglish was a Scout Market purchase this season in an attempt to fix the Buffs poor early season goal scoring. He's performed better when playing as a lone striker without the temptation to pass to the inept Steve Archibald.
    26 games, 16 goals*, 5 assists*, 4 MoM.

*When it comes to FKs Dalglish, the FK expert, "couldn't hit a coo's arse with a banjo!"

    Transfer Listed
AML/ML - Silvio Saladino (low 5*) was a late panic buy to cover for Robertson while the winger was suspended for 2 league games either side of the CL final. SOLD $34m
He played 1 match, rated 8 and scored 2 (in the match that clinched the league.
He's up for sale but will do as a temporary solution if he remains.
MC - Fernando Ricksen has been a reliable performer but has lived in the shadow of Scott Brown this season.
    He's up for sale.

    Out
DR - Alan Hutton was sold yesterday ($38m).
ST - Steve Archibald was sold today ($44m).
ST - Wouter Logeot was sold today ($56m).

    In
74Q FA Luca Pinto has joined in case transfers go well and there is an opportunity to ship out another player on top of those listed before the Season close. If he remains the 15th man he'll be sacked prior to the official season end.

    Facilities

With the seating expansion now complete the Buffs will start work on their World Arena next Season once early season transfer activity is complete and funds are available. Until then construction at Abbey Park has stopped.

    Achievements

The cobwebs have been wiped away for the space allocated for the Triple Crown plaque - to make way for the Association's Old School award next season. Maybe there will also be another space created for TC?

With another League and CL double in the bag here are some highlights.

Steve Nicol notched up his 230th match in his 5 seasons at the Buffs - a Club record and a remarkable achievement given Buffs Mad's ruthless streak.

Willie Henderson posts a strong finish to the Season and is the Buffs Highest goalscorer as well as securing 10 MoM.

Abbey Park's upgrade to Pro Arena with a shotload of seats is completed. The Board will now need to get the biscuit tin out if the town is to have a World Arena under construction next season.

    Hi,
I noticed that you like players from young academy. What performance they have in your team?

Atm I have one of my own academy players from end of last season as DMC - once I get another DMC I'll try him at DC. He rated 7 every game as DMC so far.

I only take my own Academy players when I'm low on cash - I like to look for other teams Token Academy players on TM. My longest serving player is another team's Academy player iirc and he's picture as Steve Nicol up there.

I'll get another tomorrow and I might take him since I've got expensive Stadium upgrades. I'll update here if I do.

Academy players are a high T low Cash option - for me its more about having a player that will not need replacing for a while. Low T High Cash option for a fast trainer is still NordGems or others' Academy. Academy is not the answer to everything - its still high cost.

    League Draw

Highest Q is runner-up from last Season at 88.5Q so far and there are 2 Whipping Boys at 71 and 73Q but 1 has big pile of cash.

    Recruitment

Got an early rise and bought some players. Ofc I was supposed to be looking for Defenders first but hey-ho:

1st is not top dollar but close enough

2nd and 3rd are top dollar

    Spam training has arrived.

Picked up 2 FAs for 1T each while I was there.

Buffs Mad was a no-show for today's league defeat so ofc the arrogant idiot stormed in demanding changes. (Psst yeah, show up!)

Buffs Mads takes the risky move of immediately promoting new 18 yo striker Jack Harper to the position of Captain.

He also decides to give new right winger Ryan Gauld all FK duties to give him a dunt.

Could all backfire but lets see in the Cup.

New MC Liam Henderson is out for 4 days with his Hamstring - well, it would be more serious if he was without it.

Still could do with another young DC, young left winger and a new 1 season wonder MC or 2. Then the Buffs could cash in on at least 1 MC.

    Steady the Buffs!
