Updates men ? ;D
How r cup/CL going ? I could see that u'r going to win the league today :D aparentlly lost CL finals ? uhm
We thought there could've been a treble yell but alas only a measly 7th league title was added to the Trophy Room after failing in the SF of both CL and the Cup. ;)

Season 9 was a wash-out - 4th in the league, 2nd in CL and 3rd in Cup. Rebuilding underway.

Season 10
The Buffs seem gifted at drawing competitive leagues but returned to form after extensive rebuilding.

If I thought previous leagues we're hell I was mistaken - I have just stared into the Abyss. O.o
My league has 4 Tankers and 3 heavy Mr Scout buyers - one guy bought 11 on first day.
I've bought 2 from Mr Scout yesterday but I'm wondering if I should've bothered. *shudders*
But at least I won 1st match before tomorrows game against Mr Scout's brother.
Good start to league but admittedly a few teams have had unexpected results.
There is an average Q comparison below but its not hugely useful - my average Q is 4Q lower than should be considered due to 2x1* and 1x2* Cup 'Ringers', and 3 other teams still have ringers too.
My one loss was against second when I put out 4-3N-3 to get him to change formation but didn't get back on to change mine and we got humped. :o
http://i59.tinypic.com/mmq6th.jpg
The effect of the 3x low Q players in a 14 man squad on Cup draw has been that for only the third time I have avoided a Cup 3 levels higher. My current Cup opponent is:
http://i62.tinypic.com/21o4v7m.jpg
...and ofc I still have those ringers affecting my average Q.
CL Group is proceding as expected with no goals conceded so far.
PS. These Cup Ringers do feel like cheating but if I still fail I'll probably continue and try again next Season >.<
Events Catch Up
As well as the league mid-way point........
http://i62.tinypic.com/t9bh20.jpg
....Sunday was also marked by reserve GK David Harvey's 200th game for the Buffs. And he celebrated not only with a share of the plaudits in a fine win but also his 4th Man of the Match award in 12 games this season.
http://i61.tinypic.com/mudf6q.jpg
When asked about his peculiar nickname David 'The Judge' Harvey lamented over the amount of time he's spent on the bench....then kicked a bin and had a right good go at the reporter, just as he made his excuses and left.
Buffs FC finished with the League and Cup double.
We crashed out of the CL at Top 16 stage - couldn't believe it but there you go. >.<
http://i60.tinypic.com/2cdjpn9.jpg
Buffs FC has been building gradually around a core of players from last season - GK Sub, 4xDC/x, 2xMC, 2xWingers and 2xST with the 3x1* Cup Ringers.
We've therefore added a GK from Scout list, and another DL/DC (Sub), 2xMC (1 Sub, 1 T11) and ST (sub) from open TM with an MC leaving. Now we'll look for youngsters to fill the roles of DR and gradually replace our subs, recruited this season, to prepare for T11 next Season.
Since the league draw we've recorded 2 league wins, with one to play tonight, as well as 2 CL victories and a nice 3-1 away win in the Cup against the top Q side.
We're still trying to get the right balance in Central Midfield but with 1x 7.5 performer we're hopeful it won't take to much Hokey-cokey on the TM to finish the job.
From last Season we've sort of based things around a 3N-5-2V and 3N-1-4-2 combo but will utilise 451V, 4141, 3412 and 4411 as necessary.
OMA Affiliate News
Dependiente have now been retarted as Lallans Stags and are currently rejecting the 5* 24Q grind for a more performance based approach. 4 starting squad players of varying Q have been earmarked for regular first team spots - and new recruits have joined in ST, MR, DC/DMC and MC slots - but ofc in typical style for the 'club' the DMC was crocked within 2 games and an MC is currently overperforming oop.
This will probably be my last update for this acct once the verification process catches up with it.
Buffs FC won 4-0 away in the league to go 5pts clear at the top.
The 2 Mcs from last Season were starting slowly with 6s n occasional 7 so tried to get the new 'Sub' MCs working....doing not bad now.
If that changes, last seasons will be sold and we'll try to integrate new ones again.
http://i62.tinypic.com/25t9qmq.jpghttp://i61.tinypic.com/2lu9awj.jpg
My motto for MCs = Buy, try and sell/keep* - *delete as appropriate. ;)
But importantly, Get Them Involved! ;)
PS. I don't 'Invest' in MCs - I look for 1 Season Wonders ;)
*Bugger*
Arena seating just swallowed my cash budget.
*gone FA hunting*
EDIT: Stupid Nordeus are obviously;) without a doubt:p 100% definitely  tracking my cash flow - no young fast trainers in the afternoon until I have no money.
Looking at the Defence its expected that the GK, DR and 2 DCs will easily make 6* next Season so we recruited a fast training 18yo Nordgen DL to supplement the squad.
He's not max value or super-fast (probably falls short by 3-4m) but is close enough. We'll monitor his progress and only rename him once his future is assured - decent start ;)
http://i60.tinypic.com/ne7av.jpg
Ideally we'd like 2 new wingers and a striker to grow for next season - but if we can't get them in next 4 days then we'll wait and perhaps just look for 2 of those targets as 1 season subs.
PS. Left Winger Willie Henderson is on fire atm with 5x8 ratings in last few league matches - also 4x8s and a 7 in CL and 2x9, 2x8 and a 7 in Cup. :D
Cat, you owe me 1T ;)
NordGen left back is now a naturalised Scot - Andy Robertson, formerly of Dundee United and now at Hull City.
http://i60.tinypic.com/5pkb2f.jpg
http://i58.tinypic.com/91cqba.jpg
I might swap DC/DMCs Hansen and McNeill around - McNeill might be a Sub DMC next season so I should test to see if Hansen can take over or stand-in when if we need to look for another.
Central Defensive stalwart Alan Hansen is trialled at DMC for 2 matches - 1 league and 1 CL - and passes with flying colours, rating 8 in both.
http://i61.tinypic.com/33ae6vn.jpg
Now we are at the business end of the Season Buffs Mad's thoughts turns to next Seasons' Team.
The retention poilcy remains that 11 players will join the 3 stooges as next Season's starting line up.
Goal Keeper
The policy of signing a GK from the Scout Market every 3 or 4 Seasons will be maintained.
http://i57.tinypic.com/iznxpt.jpg
Defenders
The Defence has and will continue to be based on youth - both NordGen and others' Academy product. 3 players have made the cut so far with 1 possible spot up for grabs.
http://i58.tinypic.com/2mlahz.jpghttp://i58.tinypic.com/2v9vvvd.jpghttp://i57.tinypic.com/beeqme.jpg
Central Midfielders
The Buffs have a revolving door policy for the midfield: perform and your in otherwise "there's the door". 2 players are usually carried over to fill the roles while the new Season hunt for 2 performers goes on. Performance is a selection criteria but more important is value - just in case there is an issue selling off midfilders at the Season's end.
http://i58.tinypic.com/2ekotxg.jpghttp://i61.tinypic.com/20z2mpg.jpg
Wingers
Unfortunately this is a no brainer - the 2 spots will be filled by the only current wingers despite Left Winger Davie Cooper not quite reaching the usual Buffs' standard.
http://i60.tinypic.com/5yalqb.jpghttp://i60.tinypic.com/axogop.jpg
Strikers
There are currently 2 Strikers in the squad and 1 has been a stand out - last Season's only Scout Market capture Denis Law. Whether the 2nd Striker gets one of the spare slots remains to be seen.
http://i62.tinypic.com/2dlt0du.jpg
Possible Additional Candidates
With 2 spots to fill there are 3 main candidates. The decision seems to rest on formation decisions:
to continue this season's 3N-1- Defence would require a DC & a ST; or
to increase flexibility in defence would require a DR and either a DMC or ST.
http://i60.tinypic.com/2wn9zm8.jpghttp://i58.tinypic.com/2eyggau.jpghttp://i59.tinypic.com/2nbg48m.jpg
Although the Elephants in the Room are 1 spot gong to either the 1.5k wage back-up GK or the free Academy MC recruit.....or both or just keep the last 2 to sell.
On this retention issue Buffs Mad said "While DR Alan Hutton has not shone, given limited opportunity admittedly, he represents an investment that can't easily be ignored" (ie Scout Market purchse) "however, rejecting financial considerations and starting the season 3-5-2V/3-1-4-2 is a powerful 'performance' argument and one that seems more attractive than restricting things to 4-5-1V/4-1-4-1."
Keep Billy!
:D
Yes I owe you a T. :)
Its been decided that Billy McNeill, DC/DMC and whichever of the other 2 doesn't sell will join the aforementioned 9 players and 3 Stooges for next Season.
3 Stooges

End of Season Awards
Player of the Season goes to Denis Law: 51 matches, 49 goals, 24 assists, 11 MoM and average league rating over 8.
DC/DMC Alan Hansen gets the Supporters' Club Player of the Season award.
Discipline
Buffs Mad is not happy this season with the disciplinary record. The whole squad only achieved 17 bookings - they obviously are not trying hard enough.
Squad Rotation?
The Buffs do not understand this concept. >.< 9 players played 46 or more matches this Season.
Congrats my friend, good work!!
Thanks Marwan. League was a bit too easy this Season even with the surprising losses. I think I'll go back to trying to get more competitive leagues - random no-friends leagues are just a bit too err random. XD
--------------------------------
Season 13 - Day 1
Not really much to update on Squad front. Only carried over 14 players including the 3 Stooges and TM wasn't up to much so I've only added the first ST and MC I saw to allow me to cover for injuries. Wanted to play new ST in a friendly but no left winger so last Season's main Striker got the wide role ---- and he scored 6, made 1 assist and grabbed the MoM Bubbly with a 9.
New MC has rated 6 twice - 3 strikes and he's out. >.<
Cup Draw: last Season even though we were in a level 14 Cup (2 higher) it said level 16. This Season 1 really poor lvl 16 team scraped into the draw - not really that many lvl 15 teams so we must be getting close to getting a 1 level above Cup (barring trash getting in ;) ). We drew a same level active manager's team in the Preliminaries and he put up a good fight but we won 3-1 in the end.
Champions' League Draw: looks a bit trashy atm but its early days; lets see how things change from Day 3.
I expect that we'll avoid the bad luck of last Season in the Cup when we lost to a returning 2 lvl up Manager who woke up his 3* team with a splurge on 5* players.
If League draw includes some friends we've re-added then this Season's Treble Chance might just rest on the League.
Buffs' new MC rates 6 for the third game in a row so is sold.
In comes a new signing.
Update: The new MC below has performed reasonably with straight 7s on left and 6 on right and now holds down a starting slot (left). He's been renamed Dave Mackay.
http://i60.tinypic.com/143giu1.jpg
If he can't defend he better learn quick. #don'tbeinarushtounpack
Edit: He's performed well in friendlies with 2x8 but we'll see what he's like when the real action gets underway.
Here's the ST I bought yesterday - he's performing well so far.
Update: He's performed OK'ish with 5 goals from 10 appearances but scoring has been a team issue so he's a sub. Two new STs bought.
http://i62.tinypic.com/t9xqbk.jpg
Bought another ST from TM - not sure why as I was supposed to be looking for a left winger. ;) He'll be tested in the CL tomorrow and will take CKs - if he doesn't perform straight away as sole ST and CK taker he'll be straight back on the market.
Update: the guy below didn't perform. 2 goals and 6 assists just wasn't good enough. He was sold along with the Player of the Year from last Season - no sentiment here.:p
http://i62.tinypic.com/10znz9s.jpg
But hopefully I'll at least get a 2nd ST out of those 2 with one back-up.
So now the second ST from last Season is up for Auction after 133 matches and a strike rate of a goal every other game.
Billy McNeill, DC/DMC carried over from last season, now 23 but with the Club since he was 18 yo, has not started well. He's played around 170 matches but his jacket's on a shoogly peg.
Update: McNeill was not just sold, he took the lonk walk off a short pier.
I need 2 young fast training defenders DC/x that perform, now, to start the evolution of the defence for next Season.
Capturing an AML/ML is critical - a 1 season wonder will do ;)
EDIT: Having fallen asleep again at NordGen time this morning we decided to take a rather desperate punt on an oldie for tonights league start.
At least it means we won't have to play a ST in ML role >.<
Update: Winger below has performed reasonably with 7 goals from 10 matches rating 7s and 8s behind a poorly performing Strike-force and now holds down the starting left winger slot when used.
http://i58.tinypic.com/oancau.jpg
Last Season's 2nd Striker was bought by one of our league rivals - hope he doesn't come back to haunt us. (But it will be easier to track his progress ;) )
With time constraints hampering transfer activity Buffs Mad dipped into the Scout Market and bought 2 STs.
Its unlikely we'll get any Nordgen defenders so we shared almost 60 saved Rests between 2 x 22yo defenders (DL/DC & DC/DMC) and both should reach 7* in week 3 at latest. (This will mean I can carry them over for start of next season and then hunt for replacements.....provided their performance remains acceptable.)
2x5* MCs from last Season have performed OK and shared the MC slot on the right. 1 is getting close to next star and will be sold soon - we'll buy n sell to find a cheap '1 season' replacement as it looks like we'll only carry over 1 MC to next season.
Recruitment Summary
At the moment it looks like we have only 7 players suitable to stay for next season but they should be enough to see out this season.....+ Larry, Curly and Moe ofc.:p So if we can get a late night/early morning or 2 and get lucky then there's space for 4 fast trainers IF we can get them by this weekend.
Financial Summary
There has been no seating upgrading to the stadium - it'll be 3 or 4 days before we break even for the season. There is 100m+ potential in 2 average MCs but a single '1 season' replacements would eat 1/3 that once found.
This dearth of FAs when I'm looking is hampering the Buffs getting closer to that final Stadium Upgrade (+seating thereafter).
Buffs Mad relaxes after a convincing CL win to call around for news on how former players are doing.
Player of the Season last year, Denis Law, has yet to make any impact for his new club with 2 x 7 ratings and no goals or assists;
Shot-shy striker, Alessio Teodorani, has continued firing blanks with a 5 rating in his only outing; but
DC/DMC Billy McNeill has hit the ground running. In his 8 matches for his new team ratings have included a 9, 5x8s and 2x7s as well as 2 MoM awards.
Here's me moaning about lack of FAs and up they pop - and I get 3 including a 44m one for 1T with multiple bidders already - hope the testosterone flows for a full-blown war >.< (But I'll be happy with 45m ;) )
So I just clicked on Small Seating Upgrade in anticipation. At last.
They're picking on him. Picking on him I say.
My good performing MC has picked up 3 yellows in his last 5 league matches to make 4 league yellows from 9 matches and stupid ratings statistician gives him a 6 for each of the last 2.
So he's picked up 6 of the current squad's total of 9 yellows in all competitions. He's not a thug its a Nordeus vendetta. We won't sell him - he does too many good things. >.< I like him!
.....*whimpers*......"Please don't make me sell him"
*takes the tablets*
PS. Since he was suspended for the league match (again) we'll bench him and maybe give him a little game time in CL to see if he's calmed down....erm.....I mean to see if the victimisation stops!
With the new Strike partnership only 6 days in, Left Winger, John Robertson is clinging on to the Club's top scorer title for the season so far.
http://i57.tinypic.com/2hi6wow.jpg
Robertson is a 'one-season wonder' capture bought for impact. SP gain doesn't matter he just needs to do a job this season then find a new club.
Defence
The defence is still operating well.
Last Season's Nordgen DL/DC Andy Robertson isn't as keen on playing DL as last Season but continues to progress so fast that he might start next Season only a couple of Q away from 7*.
22 yo DL/DC Steve Nicol, with over 200 games under his belt, isn't the star performer he was but still doesn't know what a 6 rating looks like ;) He's not yet regained his 7* again this Season yet but could cling on to a starting spot next Season when the squad is expected to swell again to get a new defence ready.
22 yo DC/DMC Alan Hansen is in a similar position to Nicol. Although he shared the DMC spot with the former Buffs' DMC Billy McNeill, he's fast closing in on 200 games and just might hold on to a starting spot next season.
On the right DC/DR Richard Gough is another 'one-season wonder' who has proved reliable. He might even get a start next season since Buffs Mad seems to have lost his appetitite this season for an early trawl of the TM for youths.
Midfield
Dave Mackay, MC, one season wonder with Playmaker SA, has been a very good performer on the left. However, he has proven to be a bit 'over-committed' in the tackle and has gathered 6 yellows this Season already - which account for his occasional 6 ratings. Buffs Mad is currently in discussions regarding a suitable medication to curb this.
Scott Brown and Fernando Ricksen have shared the right midfield slot, with the other taking up central role when required, but have recently been overshadowed by new Academy Recruit McCabe (yet to be renamed).
McCabe, MC, 18 yo is the newly gained 5* upstart. So far he's excelled in both the left and right roles as sub and starter. He looks promising and if it keeps up he might just earn a more intensive Quality boost. However, he does look like the kind of Academy enigma that the Buffs had 3 Seasons ago in AMR/MR Shaun Maloney. Although training well, as would be expected from such a costly youth, his Market Value is suspiciously low and Buffs Mad is fearful that McCabe might slump in training in Season 2 just like Maloney did.
Wingers
Apart from John Robertson, one season wonder, who has excelled so far, the right winger, Willie Henderson is clinging on to a starting spot by his fingertips. No bad performances but he's not exactly set the heather alight either.
Strikers
After an early season goal-scoring crisis, and against his better judgement, Buffs Mad opted to secure 2 Strikers from the Scout Market. Its a bit early to assess them but it appears that they take turns with the marksman role - Dalglish scored 6 in the first few games, then stopped, and Archibald then started, and as scored 5 in the last few. Overall the assessment would be 'blowing hot n cold'.
Subs
The subs are unremarkable. The Buffs are operating light with a DC/DR, 2 MCs and a Striker.
Three Stooges
Larry, Curly and Moe have now managed to avoid seeing any game time in they're 3 Seasons at the Club.
http://i58.tinypic.com/2cdzrqp.jpg
End Season Review
Defence
GK - Andy Goram, in his second season, continued to be a reliable safe pair of hands and appeared to be expert in dealing with shots from distance.
42 Games, 1 MoM
DL/DC - Andy Robertson, a second season NordGem, had latterly played as DL to allow Nicol to play centrally and has never rated under 7.
42 games, 4 goals, 4 MoM.
DL/DC - Steve Nicol, at 22 years old, has now completed his 5th season, playing 230 games. He has been the heart of the defence this Season.
42 games, 4 goals, 2 MoM.
DC/DMC - Alan Hansen, a 22 yo Academy product, has previously been a rock as a DC was was required to move to DMC. He's fluctuated from being a stand out to nearly being kicked out. His star has waned and is now considered a back-up player.
30 games, 5 goals, 1 Mom
DC/DR - Richard Gough, an ex-Scout capture, took over from faltering DR Alan Hutton (now sold). He's been a steady enough performer with mostly straight 7s in the ratings.
33 games, 2 goals, 1 MoM.
DC/DMC - Murray Wilson was an academy recruit this season principally as DMC where he has rated 7 in every match. He's not yet been tested at DC so it remains unclear where his future lies, but he does have a future.
13 games, 1 Assist - not been booked yet.
Midfield
MC - Dave Mackay is a One-Season-Wonder TM capture. With Playmaker SA he has performed to type with a high rate of yellow cards but a solid return of goals too. He proved to be a vital player on the left of the Buffs' usual 2 man engine room.
35 games - 15 goals, 1 assist, 1 MoM & 7 yellow cards (6 in the first half of the season).
MC - Scott Brown initially had a fight for the right MC spot with Fernando Ricksen but eventually his performances made it his own. A remarkable turnaround for someone who joined as an 18 yo as a bit-part player but has now played 107 games over 3 seasons.
36 games, 5 goals, 5 assists.
AML/AMC/AMR - 32 yo John Robertson was a carefully considered panic to get the Striker out of the left wing role. This old either footed CK specialist was a risk but his goal scoring stats gave hope. He's been one of the star performers this Season at both the winger and wide midfield slot and its unclear yet whether he'll finish his career at the Buffs or go be another One Season Wonder elsewhere. Shame he can't take a CK but lets not be greedy. ;)
33 games, 23 goals, 8 assists, 7 MoM.
AMC/AMR - right winger Willie Henderson was a purchase from the Scout Market and has now completed his 3rd season at the Club all with that shiny 6th or 7th star recognition. He and John Robertson are Buffs' sole representatives on the league's goal scoring charts.
42 games, 25 goals, 12 assists, 10 MoM
Strikers
ST - Kenny Dalglish was a Scout Market purchase this season in an attempt to fix the Buffs poor early season goal scoring. He's performed better when playing as a lone striker without the temptation to pass to the inept Steve Archibald.
26 games, 16 goals*, 5 assists*, 4 MoM.
*When it comes to FKs Dalglish, the FK expert, "couldn't hit a coo's arse with a banjo!"
Transfer Listed
AML/ML - Silvio Saladino (low 5*) was a late panic buy to cover for Robertson while the winger was suspended for 2 league games either side of the CL final. SOLD $34m
He played 1 match, rated 8 and scored 2 (in the match that clinched the league.
He's up for sale but will do as a temporary solution if he remains.
MC - Fernando Ricksen has been a reliable performer but has lived in the shadow of Scott Brown this season.
He's up for sale.
Out
DR - Alan Hutton was sold yesterday ($38m).
ST - Steve Archibald was sold today ($44m).
ST - Wouter Logeot was sold today ($56m).
In
74Q FA Luca Pinto has joined in case transfers go well and there is an opportunity to ship out another player on top of those listed before the Season close. If he remains the 15th man he'll be sacked prior to the official season end.
Facilities
With the seating expansion now complete the Buffs will start work on their World Arena next Season once early season transfer activity is complete and funds are available. Until then construction at Abbey Park has stopped.
Achievements
The cobwebs have been wiped away for the space allocated for the Triple Crown plaque - to make way for the Association's Old School award next season. Maybe there will also be another space created for TC?
With another League and CL double in the bag here are some highlights.
Steve Nicol notched up his 230th match in his 5 seasons at the Buffs - a Club record and a remarkable achievement given Buffs Mad's ruthless streak.
http://i57.tinypic.com/2dbl4dz.jpg
Willie Henderson posts a strong finish to the Season and is the Buffs Highest goalscorer as well as securing 10 MoM.
http://i60.tinypic.com/f4p7ci.jpg
Abbey Park's upgrade to Pro Arena with a shotload of seats is completed. The Board will now need to get the biscuit tin out if the town is to have a World Arena under construction next season.

Congrats my friend, good job ;)
Hi,
I noticed that you like players from young academy. What performance they have in your team?
Atm I have one of my own academy players from end of last season as DMC - once I get another DMC I'll try him at DC. He rated 7 every game as DMC so far.
I only take my own Academy players when I'm low on cash - I like to look for other teams Token Academy players on TM. My longest serving player is another team's Academy player iirc and he's picture as Steve Nicol  up there.
I'll get another tomorrow and I might take him since I've got expensive Stadium upgrades. I'll update here if I do.
Academy players are a high T low Cash option - for me its more about having a player that will not need replacing for a while. Low T High Cash option for a fast trainer is still NordGems or others' Academy. Academy is not the answer to everything - its still high cost.
Flags accrued by Season 14.
http://i57.tinypic.com/2aew876.jpg
League Draw
Highest Q is runner-up from last Season at 88.5Q so far and there are 2 Whipping Boys at 71 and 73Q but 1 has big pile of cash.
http://i62.tinypic.com/szvgp3.jpg
Recruitment
Got an early rise and bought some players. Ofc I was supposed to be looking for Defenders first but hey-ho:
1st is not top dollar but close enough

2nd and 3rd are top dollar

Spam training has arrived.
http://i57.tinypic.com/kb1yzq.jpg
Picked up 2 FAs for 1T each while I was there.
Buffs Mad was a no-show for today's league defeat so ofc the arrogant idiot stormed in demanding changes. (Psst yeah, show up!)
Buffs Mads takes the risky move of immediately promoting new 18 yo striker Jack Harper to the position of Captain.
He also decides to give new right winger Ryan Gauld all FK duties to give him a dunt.
Could all backfire but lets see in the Cup.
New MC Liam Henderson is out for 4 days with his Hamstring - well, it would be more serious if he was without it.
Still could do with another young DC, young left winger and a new 1 season wonder MC or 2. Then the Buffs could cash in on at least 1 MC.
Steady the Buffs!
